Since the American tradition of worshipping the dead carcasses of those who have been killed by God through needless and meaningless wars is just around the corner, you probably expect that I will spend this video news talking to you about that idolatry.  For instance, you probably expect that I’m going to tell you why you should be saying — with unified and strong voice — “Thank God for Dead Soldiers”, and “God Blew Up The Troops”.  You probably expect that I’m going to tell you that one of God’s favorite means to punish a rebellious nation — and the U.S.A. is a most rebellious nation — is to slaughter your citizens, young and old, in horrific military conflicts.

You would be wrong. We have told you what is wrong with worshipping the dead, particularly those who died in the honor of a nation in full rebellion against God. And, you can expect our members to give full treatment to the Memorial Day folly via blogs, tweets, Vines, and some wonderful pickets. There are other things to speak to at this hour.

As part of his “final exam” for a high school course, my son told me that his class was going to watch a woman give birth. As you might imagine, this seems to be an altogether unhelpful thing to a teenage boy.  What is he to learn from watching something he will never go through? What will be the message from his teacher related to this — well, kinda gross subject matter?

Good question, son!  As with pretty much everything that is discussed on the landscape of today’s educational agendas, it is highly unlikely that the teacher is going to tell you any substantive truth about that matter.  However, since you raised the question, let me give you some Bible truth about it.  The business of a woman giving birth to a child is a remarkably common reference in Scripture.  a few simple searches for key words will generate fifty distinct verses on the subject — and that is probably only a tithe. That fact alone makes it a subject matter worthy of consideration.

Of course, the excruciating pain attending this business — together with the other health challenges and complications — is an integral part of the curse that God placed upon the Adamic race, to wit:

“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;” [Genesis 3:16]

One of the perpetual reminders to this race of creatures that God (1) is completely and utterly in charge and (2) is perpetually angry about that great transgression (and every reflection of it in every member of the race) … is inseparately woven into the very fabric of our continued existence. Woman, those pains, pangs, and travail that comes upon you while you prepare for and then deliver that child is supposed to remind you that God has a standard in the earth, and He will recompense for rebellion against it. Man — if you’re not too cowardly or irresponsible to participate in that amazing process — you too must take heed to the awful warning that has been lovingly provided you through the process of helping to bring that child you sired into the world.  In this generation, it is more likely than not the product of fornication or adultery; all the more reason for you to be instructed!

While I’m discussing this specific nuance of God’s curse, let me issue a small challenge to those of you who have deluded yourselves into believing there is anything to the folly of the “theory” of evolution. If that theory holds any weight … and our “evolution” includes making physical adjustments to the species for survival … how did we manage to go these billions of years without figuring out how to adjust our physical dimensions to prevent all this pain? Child bearing is likely the most physically painful process known to the human race … and yet we just overlook (genetically speaking) the idea of putting a stop to that horrible experience?  That’s just “YIKES stupid!”

But I’m not done with the beauty of the child bearing metaphor. One of those beautiful uses of this metaphor is found in Jeremiah’s treatment of the subject of the impending destruction of Israel and Judah of old — which was an adumbration of the destruction coming for the whole of the earth at Christ’s return, to wit:

“And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?” [Jeremiah 30:4-6]

You just have to love brother Jeremiah’s mocking of those macho military buffoons of his day … each thinking their bad selves were going to stop the onslaught that God was bringing upon them for their sodomitical and idolatrous lifestyles.  “You guys look like a bunch of women having babies!  Where is all your macho strength now?  Where is all that silly bravado — with motorcycles engines roaring and such?”  Beautiful!

So what do we learn from this, citizens of arrogant America?  What should you be thinking every time you watch a woman going through the travail of birth?  If you had any beginning of understanding, you would be instructed in the certainty of God’s promised judgments. You would understand that when Christ comes through the clouds — that Christ you fools of this generation make a career of mockingly “saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” [2 Peter 3:4] — He is going to bring such terror into your hearts and minds that your bodies will go into spasms of unavoidable pain.  Those spasms of pain that women have travailed under during child birth — from the very day of God’s curse upon our race. Those contractions that every woman knows are inevitable, and therefore more terrifying to anticipate.

Another very blessed thing that should be understood, when you undergo or see the child-bearing process, is captured in these amazing words of Isaiah:

“Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:” [Isaiah 66:8-10]

These words, of course, refer to that blessed number of Jews who will be suddenly given grace by God.  A fixed number from every tribe, who will join with the Gentile church in existence in the last days of all — those days that are evidently coming upon us — and will lift up the standard of God to usher in the return of Christ!

Every time you see a woman complete her travail, and after the most excruciating pain a human can endure she produce a child from her womb — you should understand that a very small remnant of the Jewish nation will be saved from complete destruction when God causes the nations to march on today’s Israel and commence a slaughter like none before conceived of.

So, my son … be instructed by the observance of a woman giving birth. But, not with the human-worshipping drivel you’re likely to hear. Those who are bound to the earth make idols out of such things. If God have mercy, you will be given the ability to see His hand in every work and praise His name for it.

We at WBC love God’s metaphors for His power, his certain and triumphant return, and his amazing work of redemption for 144,000 Jews and all His Gentile saints who dwell in a dying earth. This includes the very real metaphors associated with child birth.
