What Is Westboro Baptist Church’s Stance On Political Correctness?

3057223386_ee7a950d65

 1.      Could you tell me about your personal history; how you came to be in the church and your current duties here?

My duties are the same as all other members of Westboro Baptist Church – to study the scriptures daily; be thankful for the lot God has given me; go forth and deliver the word of God to all humans that God would permit me to; humbly walk before God every day; mourn for my sins; strive against sin; prepare for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; and, call upon God for wisdom, strength, knowledge, understanding, and patience every day.  Consider these words:

2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Joh 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Ac 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

1Pe 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

Mr 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

2.      Please tell me about your involvement with the church on a daily basis.

As a member of Westboro Baptist Church I participate in the picketing ministry daily; I do what I am able to do to get the good work done that the Lord God Almighty has given us to do, and I work with the other members of this body to complete this work.

3.      The signs used by the Westboro Baptist Church at pickets have gained international media attention for their language. How do you feel about the language used by the Church? How would it change the effect of the signs if the organization, for example, used “Christians Oppose Homosexuality” instead? What sort of effect are you aiming for with this specific language?

We have a duty to put the plain, unvarnished word of God on our signs.  It is not our job to water down or change the message so as to make it more palatable for you or any other human being.  Indeed if we did, it would be to our damnation if we did.  We are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, and we are going to put the words on the signs – short, pithy words – so that those that run may see them; so that they will strike the heart; so that you will have no choice but to take a position.  Every human being is going to take a position regarding the word of God.  Every human being is going to receive the word of God and the vast majority of mankind is going to reject the word of God.  Once the word has been delivered to every human, then the Lord will return, and it will be glorious.  It is not our job to convert the devil.  It’s our job to deliver the words; make you drink from the wine cup of the wrath of God; tell you the truth of God.  Consider these words:

Hab 2:2  And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Isa. 58:1 ¶  Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

Eze. 16:1 ¶  Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2  Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations.

Mt 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Re 22:18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.

Ro 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

2Ti 1:8  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God.

Jer. 25:15 ¶  For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. 16  And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. 17  Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me: 18  To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; 19  Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; 20  And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, 21  Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon, 22  And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, 23  Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, 24  And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, 25  And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, 26  And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them. 27  Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. 28  And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

Re 14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Re 16:19  And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

4. Most of the terms used on the signs are the same ones used at the homes of the church members in raising their children – would the children’s views of, say, homosexuals, be different if this term was used instead of “fags”?

The words that our used on the signs are the words that have been gleaned from the word of God.  They are Bible words.  The word fag is a good Bible word.  Again, it’s not our job to make these words more palatable for you.  See answer to #3 above, and Consider these words: Heart

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Amos 4:11  I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand (faggot) plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God because of their wholesale acceptance of homosexuality.  See Gen. Chapter 19 for that goodness.  Firebrand/faggot is a good Bible metaphor used to describe fags, as their wicked desires burn hot and the wrath of God burns hot and quick against them because of their iniquity.

John Gill on Amos 4:11 –

Ver. 11. I have overthrown [some] of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, &c.] Either their houses were burnt, or their bodies consumed by fire from heaven, with lightning; not whole cities, but the habitations of some particular persons, or they themselves:

and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning; some escaped such an awful calamity, their houses were not consumed, while others were; and their persons were safe, while others, just by them, were struck dead at once:

yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord; neither the judgments of God on themselves and others had any effect upon them to humble and reclaim them: such dispensations, without the grace of God is exerted, rather harden than soften; and, instead of bringing men to repentance, cause them to blaspheme; see #Re 16:8-11; nor will the mercy and goodness of God, which should lead persons to repentance, attain that end, unless accompanied with the Spirit and grace of God; who, notwithstanding such mercies and deliverances, will remain senseless, stupid obdurate, and impenitent; see #Re 9:20,21.

Jude v.7  Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

John Gill on Jude v. 7 –

Ver. 7. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them, &c.] Admah and Zeboiim, for Zoar was spared. This is a third instance of God’s vengeance on sinners; and which, like that of the Israelites, and of the angels, was after great favours had been enjoyed: these places were delightfully situated, and very fruitful, as the garden of God; they were under a form of government, had kings over them, and had lately had a very great deliverance from the kings that carried them captive, being rescued by Abraham; they had a righteous Lot among them, who was a reprover in the gate, and Abraham made intercession for them with God. But they in like manner giving themselves over to fornication; not as the angels, who are not capable of sinning in such a manner; though the Jews make this to be a sin of theirs, and so interpret #Ge 6:2,4 {i}, but rather the Israelites, among whom this sin prevailed, #1Co 10:8; though it seems best of all to refer it to the false teachers that turned the grace of God into lasciviousness, and were very criminal this way; and then the sense is, that in like manner as they, the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, gave themselves over to the sin of fornication; wherefore these men might expect the same judgments that fell upon them, since their sin was alike; which sin is a work of the flesh, contrary to the law of God, is against the body, and attended with many evils; exposes to judgment here and hereafter, and unfits for the communion of the saints, and for the kingdom of heaven:

and going after strange flesh; or “other flesh”; meaning not other women besides their own wives, but men; and designs that detestable and unnatural sin, which, from these people, is called sodomy to this day; and which is an exceeding great sin, contrary to the light of nature and law of God, dishonourable to human nature, and scandalous to a nation and people, and commonly prevails where idolatry and infidelity do, as among the Papists and Mahometans; and arose from idleness and fulness of bread in Sodom, and was committed in the sight of God, with great impudence: their punishment follows,

are set forth for an example; being destroyed by fire from heaven, and their cities turned into a sulphurous lake, which continues to this day, as a monument of God’s vengeance, and an example to all such who commit the same sins, and who may expect the same equitable punishment; and to all who live ungodly lives, though they may not be guilty of the same crimes; and to all that slight and reject the Gospel revelation, with whom it will be more intolerable than for Sodom and Gomorrah; and to antichrist, who bears the same name, and spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt; and particularly to all false teachers, who besides their strange doctrines, go after strange flesh:

suffering the vengeance of eternal fire; which may be understood of that fire, with which those cities, and the inhabitants of it, were consumed; which, Philo the {k} Jew says, burnt till his time, and must be burning when Jude wrote this epistle. The effects of which still continues, the land being now brimstone, salt, and burning; and is an emblem and representation of hell fire, between which there is a great likeness; as in the matter of them, both being fire; in the efficient cause of them, both from the Lord; and in the instruments thereof, the angels, who, as then, will hereafter be employed in the delivery of the righteous, and in the burning of the wicked; and in the circumstance attending both, suddenly, at an unawares, when not thought of, and expected; and in the nature of them, being a destruction total, irreparable, and everlasting: and this agrees with the sentiments of the Jews, who say {l}, that

“the men of Sodom have no part or portion in the world to come, and shall not see the world to come.”

See also Jude v. 23:  And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

And, see John Gill on Jude v. 23 —

Ver. 23. And others save with fear, &c.] Meaning false teachers, who lead others into errors, and such as give themselves over unto sin, whether teachers or hearers, and who are obstinate and irreclaimable; even such as these, means should be used to save, if possible, by sharp admonitions and severe language; by denouncing the awful judgments of God, which threaten them; by inflicting on them church censures in a terrible manner; by declaring the terrors of the Lord, and of hell, and of everlasting damnation:

pulling [them] out of the fire; of their soul destroying doctrines, and of their filthy and unnatural lusts, and as it were out of the fire of hell, of which they are in great danger:

hating even the garment spotted, by the flesh; by which may be meant the conversation of those men, even their filthy conversation, which is to be hated, though their persons are not; but all ways and means should be used to save them; and this is one way, by showing a dislike unto, and a resentment at their wicked way of living, excluding them from church communion for it, and shunning all conversation with them. The allusion is not to garments defiled by profluvious persons, or menstruous women, as some think, but to garments spotted with nocturnal pollutions, or through unnatural lusts, which these persons were addicted to {l}. It was reckoned very dishonourable for religious persons, in the time of divine service, or on a sabbath day, to have on a garment spotted with any thing; if a priest’s garments were spotted, and he performed service in them, that service was not right {m}; and if a disciple of a wise man had any grease on his garments (on a sabbath day), he was guilty of death {n}.

So you see, we use the word fag because it is a good Bible metaphor used to describe the conduct of the homosexuals and the fiery punishment that is coming upon them for their sin and iniquity.  Likewise, we use the other words we use because they are sound, biblical words and concepts.  We have a duty to use God’s words/standards, not human words/standards.

5. In terms of the language used, what is the church’s stance on “political correctness”?

Political correctness leads to your doom.  We have a duty to preach the word; be instant in season and out of season – that is whether it’s popular or not.  It is not our job to consider the political winds of the season and then determine how to present the truth of God to you.  If we do that, we would be, again, changing the standard of God and saying, in effect, that the human knows better than God as to how to present the truth of God to the human.  That’s not any human’s job.  We do not have any control over salvation – that is strictly within the hands of God.  Our job is to deliver the words – without restraint or restriction.  However they fall on your ears or before your eyes or how they land on your heart is strictly in God’s jurisdiction.  Consider these words:

2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Eph 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

Ro 10:3  For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

De 6:2  That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

De 8:6  Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

De 13:4  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Ec 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

1Sa 14:6  And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

6. The church’s mantra holds that America is doomed by its various practices. If you could change one thing about America that would be most effective in possibly changing God’s opinion of the country, what would it be?

America is doomed because they have forgotten God; they have rejected His statutes and His commandments; because they have a regular practice of lying on God to their children, and teaching them that God is a liar by saying that God loves everyone and it’s okay to be gay; because they murder babies at the rate of 4K a day; and, most of all because they have given into the power of the dog (the fags) and they have taken over this country, and because they have same sex marriage.  Here is what America needs to do – repeal same sex marriage; get down on their knees in sackcloth and ashes and pray unto God for mercy and forgiveness; reinstitute the death penalty for fags; mourn for their sins, from the top of them (Obama) to the least of them.  A good example for them to draw from is the great city of Ninevah, and how they repented upon the preaching of Jonah, as is laid out in the book of Jonah.  A good example for them to draw to, to see the destruction that is coming upon them for same sex marriage is the story of Noah and the Ark, and the destruction of the antediluvian world at Genesis Chapters 6, 7 and 8.  Consider these words:

Le 18:22  Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Le 20:13  If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Death Penalty for fags)

Ex 20:13  Thou shalt not kill. (abortion is bloody murder)

De 5:17  Thou shalt not kill.

Mt 5:21  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.

Jonah 3:1 ¶  And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, 2  Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. 3  So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey. 4  And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 ¶  So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6  For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7  And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: 8  But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9  Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10  And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

7. The church holds the opinion that very few people will be allowed into heaven. What do you imagine Heaven and Hell are like, what are the types of people brought into both?

We believe that a very small remnant of this Adamic race is who is in heaven and who will go to heaven.  That’s not an opinion, that is sound doctrine.  We don’t have to imagine what heaven and hell are like – there are very good descriptions of both in the Bible.  The elect of God go to heaven.  The non-elect go to hell.  Consider these words:

Isa 1:9  Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Mal. 1:2  I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob (the elect), 3  And I hated Esau, (the non-elect) and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Romans 9:11  (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12  It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14 ¶  What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15  For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18  Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19  Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20  Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21  Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24  Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Description of Heaven:

Revelation 21:1 ¶  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 ¶  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11  Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12  And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13  On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15  And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18  And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19  And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20  The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:1 ¶  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

There are other verses in the Bible that give a good description of Heaven, but the above is a good sampling.

Description of Hell:

Mark 9:43  And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45  And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47  And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Revelation 14:8  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Mt 25:41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

There are other verses in the Bible that give a good description of Hell, but the above is a good sampling.
