How are things going up north? I’m sure you’re staying busy as always. I’m about to write a lengthy essay about my experience with WBC, and I have two WBC history questions, and one miscellaneous that I wanted to see if you could help me with whenever time permits.
1. When did WBC formally “split” from the Eastside Baptist Church?
2. When did Shirley take the reins as spokesperson (approximately)?

So –
1. I think the Eastside Baptist Church formal split must have been before 1960 – I don’t know exactly the answer to that.
2. When I answered the phones day and night and talked to whoever was on the phone. =) I began helping with that process about the time of the Matthew Shepherd funeral, so mid-October, 1998. To this day, it is a multi-person job and words from all these elders and more flow all over the world. I just happen to be a constant in that roll and that comes from my lot in life, etc. In fact, don’t ask, just enjoy! =)
