Field Report ~ Washington, DC & Arlington, VA ~ 11/11/10: Faithful Ambassadors Of Christ

Arlington VA Veterans Day 111110

Field Report:  Washington, DC and Arlington, VA; November 11, 2010

In addition to our customary demonstration at Arlington National Cemetery on “Veterans’ Day” (November 11, 2010), we responded to an invitation to picket at George Washington University (GWU).  While doing so, and specifically while standing in Washington Circle near GWU, I noticed a man driving by in a large vehicle who was diligently studying our signs, with great interest.  I then noticed his vehicle had a “Diplomat” tag.  Once advantage of protesting in Washington, D.C. is that we get to preach to people from all over the world in that city as diplomats.

Which reminded me of some great verses, such as:

A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.  Proverbs 13:17; and,

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.  Ephesians 6:20.

Doubtless, it is exciting and rewarding to serve as an ambassador for a foreign country, assigned to D.C.  We share that excitement and those rewards as we endeavor to be faithful ambassadors to God Almighty.

Dr. Gill says it well:

An ambassador of Christ, who does his work faithfully, keeps back nothing that is profitable, but declares the whole counsel of God; the sound doctrines he delivers are health to the souls of men; as well as he is approved of God and Christ; and so it turns to his own health and advantage, who will hear one day said unto him, "Well done, good and faithful servant," #Mt 25:23.
