Gospel: A Few WILL Repent

Hello. My name is Jeb and I’m wondering about some things that I didn’t find in your FAQs. I’ve studied the Bible for a number of years and I guess that there are some things I don’t understand. Could you help me out with that?

In the book of Romans, Paul seems to speak a lot about "justification by faith", and peace with God through Christ. How does that reconcile with the message you preach?

In the Gospels, Jesus tells to preach the Gospel (which, if my sources are correct, means good news) and make disciples of every nation. What does He mean by this?

What about the Corinthian church? It was messed up and involved in all kinds of sexual sins, but Paul never said they were going to hell, if I remember correctly. He told them what they must do to change that. How does this compare with your message?

In Matthew 7:1, isn’t the context of the concept of not judging the context of not judging in a self-righteous, arrogant way?

If you could help me out with that, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi Jeb –

Answers to your questions are in order below:

In Romans (chapters 3-5 generally), Paul is speaking about the justification by faith of God’s people who have peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ.  God loves His elect remnant, and God Hates the rest – the vast majority or mankind.  Hell is the default; Heaven is the exception.  God’s people are called a "very small remnant" in Isaiah 1:9.  These passages reconcile quite nicely with our message, to wit: God Hates Fags, God Hates America, God Hates the World, and God Loves His Elect.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of Westboro Baptist Church, and the good news is that God does not hate every individual of mankind.  The good news is that it pleased God to save a remnant of Adam’s race from hell.

When Jesus tells His apostles to make disciples of every nation, He is sending them to the Gentiles to call out of them a people for His name. (Acts 15:14).  They were no longer just preaching to the Jews because they rejected and killed the Messiah.

Paul is talking to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Corinth, to wit:

“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.” 1 Corinthians 1:2

Paul told them plainly how they were to exercise Church discipline with those members of the Church who were walking disorderly, including this:

“To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”  1 Corinthians 5:5

Paul certainly did tell them they were going to hell if they did not repent.  Our message is the same – Repent or Perish!

The concept or lesson of Matthew 7:1 is not to substitute your judgment for God’s.  Do not set up your own standards and try to judge man by them because God will judge you by those new standards and you will not be able to live up to them.  You will be found wanting when God weighs you in the balance:

“Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.” Daniel 5:27
