Methane gas locked inside Siberia’s frozen soil and under its lakes is being released at a perilous rate contributing to global warming. Methane is a greenhouse gas 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. The warming is causing the landscape to buckle under their feet, taking the roads and buildings with it.
