“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” (Psalm 127:3-5)
Children are an heritage of the Lord! Heritage – that is, an inheritance, a portion. That incredible blessing is not one that is earned or deserved, and is to be acknowledged as a free gift of our Creator, and to be treated with the utmost of sobriety and care. Those children are not only an heritage OF the Lord, but are an heritage FOR the Lord. When God gives the gift of a child, there is an indellegable duty that is immediately assumed by those parents, to raise up that child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Anything short of that, is to declare war on the God that gave you that child! To refuse that duty, is to show yourself a God hating rebel, and for you, that blessing becomes the worst kind of curse. A child is a unique opportunity in a person’s life – that child is a blank slate, and the parents have a unique sway over that child – what a blessing, to be able to use that opportunity to rehearse the nature, laws and attributes of the Almighty God in the ears of that child, and to insist upon obedience to those simple commandments! What a blessing, to be able to show obedience to God in that matter, as good stewards of the gift that he gave! It is a work that a parent is to engage in EVERY DAY that they have authority over that child – to teach them – line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. Crafting them, as weapons of war, for the Lord! Ensuring that the arrow is balanced, the shaft is straight, and the tip is razor sharp, so that when they are prepared, and notched to the bow, they will fly true to their mark. The scriptures are clear on the importance of this concept – let’s look at some examples:
“Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” (Deut 31:12-13)
It is the ONLY way for a parent to show true love for their children, and their God – to obey this simple commandment.
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.” (Deut 6:6-9)
How’s that for brainwashing! Put these doctrines of God, and these simple instructions of life, health and peace continually before their eyes.
Titus 2: 4-8 “… teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. [That’s your job, mothers of America! But you filthy whores emulate the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and raise your strumpet daughters to idolize Snooki!] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.” [You fathers should be raising sober, humble, dedicated servants of God, but instead you are effeminate sissies, that raise lazy, ignorant, lustful brats – whoremongers and fags, that are nothing but cannon-fodder for the wars that God has drug this nation into]
We live now in a generation where these concepts are not only abandoned, but they are roundly mocked, and any who would do this blessed duty for their children are vilified and relentlessly persecuted! In this filthy society, the corruption begins from conception: rather than bowing to the will of God in this most important of matters, you wicked people seek to control the matters of the womb (think birth control, morning after pills, and abortion on demand) thinking that you make these children for yourselves, rather than acknowledging them as a gift of God. So of course you then raise them from birth to pursue the lust of this flesh, and to be abysmally ignorant of the God that made them, and what he requires of them. Shame! Shame!
Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? (Jer 5:9)
Even so, come Lord Jesus.
