Thank you for writing, Robert. Although Abraham Lincoln appeared to have a proper motive for the institution of Thanksgiving as a national holiday–for the nation to repent and seek the Lord (ala Hosea 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.), it certainly is not the motivation for today. In fact, we have reached an age of systemic and universal unthankfulness, which is a sure sign of the last days when perilous times have come, pursuant to Paul’s warning in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
That unthankful characteristic which is stamped on america’s forehead is that unthankfulness that starts the fag train rolling in Romans Chapter 1:17-32 (see in particular v. 21, where they are described as unthankful for God’s absolute sovereignty and therefore God has given them up to uncleanness, vile affections and a reprobate mind). And, it–unthankfulness–is the last thing which should characterize humans and therefore such grotesque unthankfulness is highly offensive to any sensible person.
“Be ye thankful” is the admonition from cover to cover of the large love letter from our Lord Jesus Christ. See, e.g., Psalm 26:7 I will publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalm 86:12-13 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. 1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts; and be ye thankful.
God is mocking america with this whole “Thanksgiving” charade. They have a terminal case of James 4:3: “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” And God further mocks them by giving them over to their lusts to fatten them up for destruction.
Hosea 4:17 “Ephraim [america] is joined to idols: let him alone.” (And some other good thoughts concerning unthankful brutish americans:
Hosea 7:8 Ephraim [America], he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
Hosea 9:16 Ephraim [America] is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.)
They have with one voice risen up and called God a liar saying it is okay to be gay, and soon will institute nation wide same-sex marriage, the ultimate smash-face insult to God and God’s institution of marriage in the Garden of Eden, which he says is a great mystery illustrating Christ and his church. See Ephesians 5:30-32. The final straw which precipitated the deluge destruction of Noah and will set the stage for Christ’s return. Because this nation has forgotten God and are being turned into hell (Psalm 9:17), and have exhibited great unthankfulness to God stamping their audacious depravity; we are going to follow Paul’s advice of 2 Timothy 3:5 and turn away from their idolatrous practices including “Thanksgiving.”
