Letter To WBC From Ex-Marine’s Mother: “God Bless You For All You Do!”

Hi WBC,

Ex-marine’s (http://t.co/2GM3xRz) mom here. I would like to be your friend. I agree with a lot of your favorite bible verses and the more I read the bible, the more I respect you and your church. I would have asked for your friendship a bit ago, but to be honest, I was afraid of what some of my friends would think. But my true friends know I am a good person and not some idiot. Besides I am learning to FEAR GOD- NOT MAN. And I really do respect you guys, now that I know what you are all about. But, unfortunately, most people don’t know the good you are doing. They don’t get it. I didn’t either.

When my son was in Iraq, and I worried he might be killed I remember thinking “If them nuts with the picket signs come over…Grrrr!” I never took the time to see what you guys were doing. Shame on me. Now I know you have love in your heart, and are doing what God wants you to do. (You’re not mean and hateful!) And your church brought my son to God and he closed the deal on me!

I was on the fence, searching-for years. A lot of things didn’t make sense. I kept questioning my close friends, and going to different churches-always leaving unfulfilled. And my friends would say “All you have to do is believe Jesus is Lord and Savior and died for us. That’s it.” It just didn’t make sense…. Just keep sinning. God will reward THAT? Then my son found you. And my son helped me!!

I started reading the Bible. And BAM! It’s all there! God is incredible, and I’m so glad I finally got it! THANK YOU! When my son was young, I knew he was special and that he would be some kind of a leader some day. I thought either politics, military, or even religious. He was very gifted, and unique. His teachers always commented on what a great thinker he was. Just thought I’d mention that, but I’m sure you have noticed! And
incidentally he has the utmost respect for you all. So do I. I have watched a lot of stuff on your church, and you have a nice family and group. I look forward to meeting you all in the near future. In the mean time you are all in my prayers. God Bless you all for all you do!

Love,
Ex-marine’s mother (Jeez, sorry so long!)
