That’s because, by the hand of our God, they are a bundle of confusion! Yay. 
Here’s what I know: we at WBC found out about the Anonymous threat via Twitter a few days after it was written (many of those who follow WBC members there sent it to us asking for a response). We didn’t issue the threat, and no one can say for sure who did (the very nature of Anonymous cowards) – but we did respond to it once it was brought to our attention. We responded the same way we always respond when rebels decide they’re going to try to shut us up: we tell them to give it all they’ve got, because (1) they can’t accomplish their stated goal to silence us; they’re fighting the God who opens the doors of utterance and no man can shut them! and (2) everything they do just helps us by further publishing this Gospel truth we preach.
Here’s where the Anonymous infighting begins – they can’t decide how to attack, and some think they shouldn’t be attacking at all, seeing as how they’re just helping us by stirring up the media. (Incidentally, this seems to be a frequent problem for people. Everywhere we picket, there are two types of response: those who are in favor of countering us and those who say to ignore us. The people who want to ignore us hate that people counter us, because it makes their “ignoring” tactic less effective. The people who want to counter us often can’t agree how to: counter protest? “Unity” rally? Absurd signs? Etc. God did that! He causes them to be in confusion so they can’t do anything effectively to harm us.) So the second Anonymous letter gets written, claiming that the first letter was fake. Again, it’s the nature of Anonymous – how can you know which is “real” and which is fake? Or if they’re both real, written by the same group of people who changed their minds when they realized they were only helping us? Or, most likely, that they’re both real and written by different factions within Anonymous who don’t agree on whether/how to attack us?
This confusing the enemies of God is nothing new. It is what God does, He confuses, confounds and defeats HIS enemies, thus OUR enemies. Look at what happened when Paul preached these doctrines where they worshiped the false goddess Diana:
“After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season. And the same time there arose no small stir about that way. For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not. And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre. Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together. And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people. But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess. Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another. But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly. For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse. And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.” Acts 19:21-41
Check out these precious words of promise, from the UNCHANGING God, to wit:
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 54:17
In any case, it doesn’t matter to us. Our initial response was spot on: no matter what you do, the servants of God at WBC are the happy and thankful beneficiaries. Every turn this saga has taken has resulted in a huge amount of attention on this Bread of Life that we go forth and preach every day, asking the Lord to open great doors of utterance for us. Even now, as Anonymous claims the threat was faked, our sites are getting attacked (and even in the instances where a person isn’t able to load www.GodHatesFags.com, we are still assured that they got our message – it’s right there in the URL. Again, God did that. Rejoice!). And so here we are, with a huge and amazing platform for us to speak these words – and all we had to do was do our simple duty to God: obey and faithfully preach His Word. Amazing! We are so thankful.
“For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1Co 16:9
Meanwhile, we have a new baby girl was born on this day, and she was named for our Lily of the Valley, our Beloved. She is Lily Jordon Phelps-Roper. She is a tiny, welcome sweetheart, a great blessing from our God!

James Franco and Anne Hathaway both unabashedly use the platforms God gave them to push the filth that this nation loves. Franco is famous for his role as Sean Penn’s fag partner in Milk and recently commented on the fact that he’s played 3 fag characters: “Maybe I’m just gay” – as though he were describing his preferred method of cooking eggs, instead of committing a horrible, soul-damning abomination against God. God hates him for that! Anne Hathaway has a fag brother, and instead of telling him the truth about what God requires of him, she does the opposite, encouraging him in his rebellion. She played in “Brokeback Mountain,” using that film to pretend that not only is there nothing wrong with fags, but that adultery and fornication are A-OK as well! These two are perfect for the film industry to put forward as the face of Hollywood: nothing but whores and fag-enablers, worse than worthless, because they actively hate on their fellow man. They’re going to Hell, and they’re taking you with them.
Be crystal clear. If one has the Romans 1:18-32 curse of God upon them wherein they burn in their lust for a same-sex abomination, they are likely in less trouble with God than those rebels that would justify THEIR misconduct, by enabling that poor cursed soul in their sin. Refusing to love their neighbor, by God’s standard, warning them to FLEE the coming wrath! Make no mistake, that wrath is in sight now!
