Westboro Student’s Extra Credit Paper For Consumer Skills Class

Task:  Write a 6 to 8 sentence paragraph describing ways that your family saves and invests money.

I interviewed my mom about our financial stability and success that my parents employ that makes it so that we always have everything that we need.  She told me this:

I’m happy you asked!  It is a most important issue for every family and in particular for large families such as our family of 11 children and two parents.  We begin with Christ instructing at least five times in the gospels that we should have faith that God is true to his people.  So we seek first to serve him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.  We know that he gave us everything that we have and he will require of us what we did with it.

Therefore we have one strategy. We live frugal, circumspect lives.  We apply our energies to serve our God and he has supplied all our needs.  THAT is our financial plan, spending, savings and investment.  It is a perfect model!  Try it, you might like it!

We say with David:

Psalm 37:25  I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

And with Jacob we say:

Genesis 48:15  And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

16  The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

Therefore, we invest in the future!  This life is a vapor and the flower of the field which fadeth away.  We seek a continuing city whose builder and maker is God!  There is nothing in this earth, especially in these last minutes of the very last days of all!  We use all our resources and we hold back nothing and everything is on the table!  The time is so very, very short!
