I don’t quite understand why God would have created all of these people in the first place if He really hates most of us so much, but I suppose that none of us can really understand how God makes his decisions anyway.

Did you think it was your place to QUESTION WHY God would do this or that thing? If you would give a tithe of the time you spend picking lint from your navel with your fluffy thinking, just READING the Word of God!!! READ THE WORDS! It is all about the words David – the words! The WORDS would help you to understand that the Living God does what He wills in the armies of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth and NONE shall stay His hand nor say unto Him, WHAT DOEST THOU?! You don’t get to ask God WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING creating ALL THOSE PEOPLE when you were just going to hate them. Yikes! Read Romans 9 and Daniel 4 – and oh – ALL THE WORDS!
Another thing you would drill down with a reading of THE WORDS is that God gets His glory in His creatures! Just look at these amazing words, and if they fill you with rebellious anger, too bad! Your duty is to FEAR GOD and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and give the glory of ALL these things, TO GOD!! Now, to the words rebel:
"Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain." Psalm 76:10
"I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8
"If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart." Malachi 2:2
God will have His glory and His name is Jealous and He will NOT let you give the glory of oh, say, the hurricane and the horrible weather from the past winter to your false goddess mother nature. THAT is HIS glory and you bring more wrath upon your disobedient heads when you do that.

The scriptures are FULL of the sovereignty of God! Why He does a thing or not and it is all for His glory! You would do well to read it all, but Romans 9 drills down about the potter and the clay and the vessels of wrath that are FITTED to destruction. That is to say, God makes this or that rebel to destroy them, FOR HIS GLORY! You can do NOTHING about that!
Christ: "Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?" Matthew 20:15
Christ is God! He does what He wants to do.

Thank you, I believe that you have answered my questions.
I feel that our correspondence could be summarized by me saying "These things don’t make sense to me", and you responding that "It doesn’t have to make sense, because God can do what he wants whether it makes sense or not". Surely when you were in law school, your professors not only explained how the legal system works, but also why it works that way. I have always felt it necessary to understand things before accepting them to be true, it’s just part of my nature.
Perhaps you feel that since this is the Bible we’re talking about, rather than academia, we don’t need to question it in the same way. But most people will agree that the Bible has been muddled by time and translation in the span between the original writers and the translators who created the King James version. If you read The Bible in English: its history and influence by David Daniell, you will find that "James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its beliefs about an ordained clergy." Essentially, King James gave the translators some freedom to make sure the translation confirmed the beliefs of the Church of England at the time. Similarly, the Bible is rife with figures of speech that have also been lost due to time and translation. Not everything in it can be taken literally.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on our beliefs– none of us will know the full story until we meet our maker anyway.
I did enjoyed the video though, as I am not a huge fan of either the current Pope or Bill O’Reilly (though probably for different reasons than you).
As far as the sex scandals in the Catholic Church go, it doesn’t seem that priests are all that much more likely to abuse children than people in any other profession with access to children, such as teachers. However, I will agree with you that the Vatican has not handled the situation properly at all.
I have enjoyed our correspondence, and I feel that I have learned a good deal about your church through it.

It is a HUGE curse from God when you are left to say (think throwing up your hands in the giving up mode) that ALL the adults in FILTHY Doomed america are pedophiles! You may as well just add to it that the fathers of Doomed america are the single largest threat for rape just after the lying false prophets. Then add this: the Catholic Whore is the largest pedophile machine in the whole world!
It is all praise and honor and glory that must go to the God of all creation that He has produced this work whereby their full, final and complete destruction is the ONLY thing left to do with them.

You know perfectly well that I said nothing of the sort. My point was that a very small proportion of adults are pedophiles, and they can be found in all sorts of professions, and that most of them are not priests.
Statements such as the one you just sent me are the reason why almost nobody takes you seriously– there are plenty of legitimate criticisms you could make of the Catholic Church, but calling it "the largest pedophile machine in the whole world" is not one of them.
It appears that neither of us has the humility to let the other have the last word, so I suppose that I’ll hear from you again shortly.

I don’t like pedophiles any more than you do, but I expect that just like murderers and robbers, there will always be pedophiles and there’s not a whole lot we can do about that. I don’t think the problem has anything to do with the Catholic Church or our country, since there are pedophiles, murderers, and robbers across all countries and religions.
Alternatively, we can bring this back to the beginning of our discussion and say that since God is pulling all the strings, He must have made the pedophiles who they are, and we ought to thank Him for them just like you thank Him for the deaths of soldiers and miners and such.
