We Cannot Lead You To God, Even If We Wanted To, Because That Is God’s Prerogative

WBC Love Fest

Hello, Westboro Baptist.

I am a beginner Christian; I have been following your church for about a year via internet and my beliefs in the Lord our God have been stronger in each day; since I have become a primitive baptist (under your teachings via internet) my life has gone nowhere but up. God has blessed me, and before I begin my little questionnaire, I just want to say thank you for leading me to righteousness.

In your video under God Hates America labelled Fag Church, one of your members when lecturing that God does not want all people to believe in him and to achieve salvation. I’ve looked all throughout the bible and I don’t understand why God would have children birthed on the Earth he created and NOT want them to be one with him. He also says that a man cannot lead another man to God even if he tried, but before following your Church via internet I was a filthy fag-enabling stray. I am simply confused.

Hi, Violet –

I am glad to hear that you have been reading the words, and these are good follow-up questions.

God is the creator, and he does what he wills.  He determined to create most people for destruction (called vessels of dishonor/wrath), and some people for salvation (called vessels of honor/mercy) – all for His glory.  Romans Chapters 8 and 9 contain a good treatise on these issues that I recommend you read.  Here’s the salient part from Romans 9 that answers your question:

Romans 9:14 ¶  What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18  Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19  Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20  Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21  Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24  Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

We cannot lead you to God, even if we wanted to, because that is God’s prerogative.  Jesus Christ said that no man can come to him except God draw that man to him.

Joh 6:44 – No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw

him: and I will raise him up at the last day.  45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

It pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to save His people.

1Co 1:21 – For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

They cannot hear without a preacher sent by God, to wit:

Ro. 10:14 – How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

We have been sent to deliver this message to the whole world in these last days of all.  We are very thankful to do that job.

Thanks for writing!
