I was just checking facebook today, only to find some of my school
mates joining counter-protest movements against your church this
thursday at Lowell High School. I’m an attending senior at that High
School and firm believer in God’s grace. I love your fervor for God’s
glory, but I speak not only for myself but other believers in San
Francisco when I caution you to think carefully about your actions.
I’ve been spending my 17 years of life reaching out to those who have
yet to hear God’s message, and I don’t think your strong anti-gay
message will help to show the people of San Francisco the error of
their ways or my own attempts to spread God’s grace.
”I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral
people-not at all meaning the sexual immoral of this world. But now I
am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of
brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality, or greed, or is an
idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler-not even to eat with such a
one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those
inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside.
‘Purge the evil person from among you.’”

I know its hard to believe, but God will deal with those who sin in
the world. Instead of preaching the destruction God will bring to the
sinners and scum of the earth, let us spread a message of the grace,
compassion, and hope God gave us through Christ’s death on the cross.
Yes, the Jews did kill Jesus, but if Jesus didn’t die for our sins, we
wouldn’t have the opportunity to live with our God Yahweh for
eternity. I wish you all the best in glorifying God!
