Psalm 2:1 ¶ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
We at the Westboro Baptist Church are very familiar with the heathen and their endless raging. The people of this doomed nation, and world, being the servants of their Father – the usurper – Satan, vainly imagine that they can defeat God and His righteous judgments by silencing His blessed words in the Earth. You vainly believe that if you keep us from preaching these simple, loving truths to you, then you will not be bound by them. You take counsel together, from the halls of government, to the local fag bar, and everywhere in between (hmmm … these days, there’s not a lot of difference between those, huh?) At any rate, you take counsel together as to how you can silence this humble little church whose words torment your conscience – we are a stench of death and hell in your nostrils. You plan vigils, and counter protests – hold fundraisers – patriot guard flag lines, you pass laws, you sue us, you throw things at us, you slash our tires and break out our windows, steal and break our signs, you spit on us and batter us, you revile and mock our every word. I could go on for a good long while listing out the ways that you try to scare us into silence. But – by the grace of God, we are not afraid of your roaring – He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound, godly, scriptural mind:
Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
And so we share our King’s chuckle when we see that the Lord has put you in derision – confusion. You spastically make plans to stop us from coming to preach in your town, all the while missing two important points: 1) You – each of you who set about to make such plans – are in fact our target audience! Our job is to preach the Gospel to EVERY creature. Thank you for confirming that you got the message – before we even get in the car! 2) You are preaching our message for us! All of your caterwauling bears our doctrine in it’s teeth! You can’t rally everyone to your side to hate on us, without repeating our core message: God Hates Fags, God Hates Fag Enablers, Same Sex Marriage Dooms Nations, and therefore America is Doomed! Again – we don’t even have to show up, and you have already spread the message!
Phillipians 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
God has no need of any of us, and would be perfectly just and righteous if all were sent to hell to pay for our sins. However, He has shown His boundless mercy through the blood of Jesus Christ, by condescending to us, and choosing out a people for His namesake in the earth – a peculiar, people. A humble people. Not many wise, not many noble, not many mighty, but foolish, weak and despised people, that none would glorify themselves over God. And to those blessed few, He has committed His Word, which He has exalted above His name in the Earth, and He has appointed us to preach this blessed word – faithfully – as the means to the ends that He has chosen. A few will hear these words and be called to repentance, while the great majority will be enraged, their hearts will be hardened, and they will be pickled in their sins. We are truly a spectacle in the earth – mocked and abused, as Jesus Christ our master was before us.
1Cor 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Whereis the wise? whereis the scribe? whereis the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
The Lord is longsuffering – He allows this Earth, which is increasingly filled with every manner of blasphemous, rebellious creature, to continue, for the sole purpose of bringing each and every one of His elect to salvation.
2Peter 3: 9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us–ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
The day will come – shortly now – when the last little sheep is called to salvation. And when that day comes, God’s patience will be suddenly at an end. This Earth will be destroyed in His fury, as there will no longer be any reason to preserve it. So – while you rage against us, and try to stop our preaching, consider this:
After Noah spent 120 years condemning his contemporaries with His preaching, and He was safely shut up inside the ark – the rain started.
After Lot shook the dust of old Sodom off of his feet – fire and brimstone fell from heaven and destroyed them all.
After the Lord brings the testimony of the Westboro Baptist Church to an end – your celebration will be short lived. You will wish for one of our picket signs, if only to shield you in some small way from the wrath of God that will pour out without mixture.
