You saw what they did to Jesus Christ in Mark 15:15-20, namely scourging him; stripping him of his clothing; putting purple clothing and a crown of thorns on his head; mocking, hitting, spitting on him!
AFTER being told by John Baptist, very specifically, what their ACTUAL duty is: Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
That cop, like all oath-breakers, is mad about his wages, or sex-partner “issues” and has no self-control = Cursed by God!
Praise/fear God, not man (especially oath breakers)!
