The Schooling Of Westboro Baptist Church Children

Our children are entitled to all the education they can get.

Our children are entitled to all the education they can get.

Westboro Baptist Church:

1. Do you believe public, private, or homeschooling to be more beneficial for youth? What are the redeeming aspects of this choice?

2. What are the fatal faults of the other two?

3. What aspects need to be emphasized in an educational environment?

4.To what extent should schooling affect other aspects of life?

Thanks for any responses,

Evan

Dear Evan –

  1. I think that our children are entitled to all the education they can get.  They get good things from the public schools, including an education on the generation they are living in and a lot of good things in secular matters, and how to make a living and manage their daily affairs in this earth.  They get daily education from home, in the example of their parents, and the words and deeds of their house mates.  They get excellent education in the scriptures if they are blessed with parents appointed to serve the Lord their God with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength! The redeeming aspects of this program is that they are saturated in knowledge, and if the Lord is willing, with wisdom and understanding.
  2. See #1 above.
  3. Structure is good. Nurturing is good. Opportunity is good.  I don’t really know what you are looking for.  But I know this:  Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. SO…begin with those never-changing and ever-lasting fundamentals, and arrange your affairs accordingly, including the education of your children.  Because THAT work is included in the “works that are therein shall be burned up.”  That fact helps keep a proper perspective on what you are doing and what is important and where your priorities should lie.
  4. ALSO, please add this:  Ecclesiastes 9:10  Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
  5. I also know this:  2 Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
  6. Well, as you know, schooling is almost ALL that you do for the first two decades and beyond of your life.  And what you do or do not learn in those years will set the course of your life.  It is not “the do all or the end all” but it is, now that you make me think on it, huge.  So I’m thankful every time that the Lord has me to think on seeking Him for a proper path and help every second of every minute of every hour of every day.  You see, it is not about my analysis, or my goodness or smarts, or clever thinking! I tell you straight up, I have never done this analysis.  I have been appointed to wait upon the Lord my God, and he has directed my steps.  Had it not been for that, I would do nothing right about any of these matters.  In short, see these to-the-point words of the our Lord Jesus Christ:  Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?  27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?  28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?  31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. How good is that?!  The Lord appoints you to seek FIRST the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness and THEN HE adds many good things to that.  No kidding: “happy Zion, what a favored lot is thine!”

I don’t know what else to tell you, friend.

If I missed the boat and you have other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for writing.
