A MARRIAGE APOCALYPSE?

MARRIAGE IS HONOURABLE IN ALL AND THE MARRIAGE BED IS UNDEFILED: WHOREMONGERS AND ADULTERERS GOD WILL JUDGE (HEBREWS 13:4)

On the front pages of the news this week include that in 2013, fully four-in-ten new marriages included at least one partner who had been married before, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

A recent CNN opinion called “a marriage apocalypse is coming” says: “Talk to any millennial and you can envision an America virtually marriage-free, with everyone happily single.” But not in that praiseworthy manner which Paul describes in 1 Corinthians Chapter 7 where the single person “possess[es] [their] vessel in sanctification and honour” (1 Thessalonians 4:4). No, in proud, open rebellious defiance of those commandments to “flee fornication” and “thou shalt not commit adultery” (1 Corinthians 6:18; Matthew 5:27). A millennial is one of these impudent perverts in America who was born between 1980 and 2000. The grandchildren or grandchildren of the so-called “the greatest generation.”

In a recent poll by a major news organization in this country, they posed this question to Americans: “Do you think gays and lesbians do or do not have a constitutional right to get married and have their marriage recognized by law as valid?” 64 Percent said, “Yes.”

Westboro Baptist Church has conducted the only relevant pole. They consulted the sovereign King of Eternity and learned these things from His revealed will in his word:

Our Lord Jesus Christ established the first human relationship on the earth, to wit: Marriage. See Genesis Chapter 2: “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. … And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Next, see Malachi Chapter 2: The Lord Jesus Christ regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Next see Matthew Chapter 19 where our Lord Jesus Christ is on the earth preaching: The mockers and scoffers put this question to him: “Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?” What did Jesus Christ, who is the same today, yesterday and forever, (Hebrews 13:8) say: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

Now go to where the Apostle instructs you in the epistle to the Ephesians: “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” (Ephesians 5:31-32).

And, the Apostle to those formerly Jewish now Christians in the book of Hebrews: “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4). That is to say the marriage that our Lord Jesus Christ has established (one man, one woman for one lifetime) is honourable, and all other pseudo-marriage relationships are dishonorable.   And only that marriage bed is honourable and all others dishonourable. And that marriage is only honourable and that bed is only honourable in all times, places, and locations where humanity find themselves in the earth. Period.

Because in the final analysis it comes down to this scene for which the whole earth groans and travails until it is revealed who is that bride of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Revelation 19:6-9: “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

So, no church of the Lord Jesus Christ will permit a divorced and remarried person nor a sodomite to be a member. Deuteronomy 23:17: “There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

It doesn’t matter how many earth dwellers, called “millennials,” called “the greatest generation,” or called by their true name, “workers of iniquity,” say that “I’m okay, you’re okay.” Our Lord Jesus Christ has opened our hearts and the Scripture to us where we’ve read in His book and have learned: You’re not okay. You’re going to an eternal hell. Have ye not read? “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)
