The movie American Sniper has now grossed more than a half a billion dollars. It was the highest grossing film of 2014. It also was nominated for a number of Academy Awards. The movie is about a Navy seal named Chris Kyle. Mr. Kyle is repeatedly referred to as a “legend” in the movie. Mr. Kyle served four tours in Iraq and is the most lethal sniper in US military history with 160 confirmed kills and a purported 250 unconfirmed kills.
The movie was based on Mr. Kyle’s best-selling autobiography. The movie extols the virtues of war, murder, fornication, pride and U.S. patriotism. It is the single most efficient military recruiting tool that has been produced in a decade. It is an exceedingly sad movie in which God almighty alone wrote the ending which no one could have foreseen and was different from Mr. Kyle’s autobiography.
Unfortunately, the movie leaves out the fact that his fellow Texan, George w Bush started the Iraq war based on innuendos, misrepresentation, and the falsehood that Saddam Hussein had stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction. Not only did he not have stockpiles of WMDs, he did not in fact have one. The United States started a big war, killed tens of thousands of Iraqi’s and had no legitimate basis to do so at least according to the stated reasons for the war.
On February 2, 2013, A tragic event occurred. Mr. Kyle was shot and killed by a fellow Texan, veteran and Marine named Eddie Ray Ralph who Mr. Kyle was trying to help. Mr. Kyle was purportedly shot several times and “never saw it coming”! Unfortunately, his victims never saw HIS shots coming. The Divine irony of Mr. Kyle’s death cannot go unnoticed. Ga 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Here is some more applicable Word of God.
Mr. Kyle’s courage was misplaced. He leaned upon the arm of flesh. Further, Mr. Kyle’s dad was DEAD wrong! There are only TWO kinds of people in this world, not three. There are sheep and goats. There is Isaac and Ishmael. There is Jacob and Esau. You are of Christ, who is the Lamb of God, (See for example, Joh 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!) or you are of your father, the devil, who is a liar and a murderer (Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.) According to the Word of God, including the New Testament, you cannot kill your way to heaven. Killing leads to damnation not salvation.
In a separate but somewhat related story, a summary of the Senate’s torture report recently came out. The full 6,000 page report (good grief that is a lot of torture!) was not released but apparently from the summary, it is horrific what the United States did in violation of it’s own Constitution. A recent NPR story noted that one of the detainees at Guantánamo Bay Cuba had to sit on a chair with a special pillow. The summary of the torture report apparently revealed that the CIA brutally sodomize the man so badly that he has open, bleeding sores so that he cannot sit. The Lord Jesus Christ said to love your enemies, and to do good to them that hate you.
In other news, Secretary of State John Kerry appointed Randy Berry, an out of the closet homosexual, to be … get this, the U.S. International Gay Rights Envoy. His job is to pressure, threaten, and manipulate independent sovereign countries to pass the same godless policies the US has and to promote gay-rights, buggery and to incur the wrath of God.
Remember friends that per Genesis 18 and 19 the Lord Jesus Christ personally was sent to investigate the awful crimes of homosexuality at Sodom. He confirmed said crimes and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah to the ground. Christ intimates that the last days before his coming will be as the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. I love you all, Amen.
