For decades, we at WBC have been receiving correspondence from citizens of the world filled with the most hateful and vulgar words and thoughts the human mind is able to concoct. These missiles of filth come by snail mail, e-mail, Tweets, texts, other forms of social media, phone calls, voice mail messages, screams, yells, and otherwise. Ironically, simultaneously you all have been calling US “hatemongers” and a “hate church.”
Of course, you know it’s a lie; we don’t hate; we are the only group of people on the planet that loves our fellow humans enough to tell them the truth. So, as usual, you call good evil, and up down.
But not to worry; we understand and appreciate your hate for this little church. Our Great Shepherd told us it would be so. There actually is a lot about “hate” in the Bible (in addition to God’s hate for the unsaved). But the hate is on you. Listen to this:
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 10:22).
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. (John 15:18).
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. (Luke 6:22).
Now THERE’S some good, clear, crisp and solid truth you can grab on to. And what’s more, those Bible words perfectly describe what’s going on. To sum it up: You hate us, and it’s all good! Now who are the hatemongers, you hatey-hate hatemongers you!?
