America is the world’s bully!  She prates around the world, imposing her will, often unrestrained.

Information provided by the military, which is available on line, shows the massive human power of this nation’s show of force across the globe.  The U. S. military is the second largest in the world in terms of manpower, but it has a bigger budget than any other country’s armed forces and it far exceeds all other nations in how it uses that presence in other countries.

The U. S. military has about 1.5 million active members distributed throughout the five main branches of the federal armed forces.  This number does not include members of the National Guard.  Reserve forces number in excess of 750,000.  Only the People’s Republic of China has a larger number of military personnel.

The U. S. military expends tens of billions of dollars every year just to keep going, not to mention the hundreds of billions of dollars of damage it does around the world and the hundreds of billions of dollars this country spends in other nations each year.  In this century, the largest military financial expenditures were the overseas wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  To date, those wars have cost an estimated $5 trillion.  This figure covers only money expended by the U. S. Armed Forces and not other related organizations.

Now get this!  The U. S. military maintains facilities in about 30 countries other than the United States and has personnel stationed in about 150 countries.  The number of troops stationed overseas is about 1.4 million.  American troops have a presence on every continent.  Our military tells us this large size is “essential for maintaining its presence worldwide.”  In other words, the confessed mission is a worldwide presence.

What is that all about?  I ask you, what in the world (no pun intended) does this country’s military think it’s doing?

Answer:  America is Daniel’s 4th Beast.  Take a good look at Daniel Chapter 7.  Here are some excerpts:

Daniel  7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

AND

7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Now, before I go further, I can’t help but briefly digress.  Did you see that word “diverse” in both of those verses?  Is this not the era of “diversity?”  Diversity, diversity and diversity – it’s all about diversity!  But I digress.

Hear those words.  This fourth beast devours the whole earth (think 150 countries); treads the earth down (think our military presence on all continents); and breaks it in pieces (think drones, bombs and so on all over the place).

And consider the context for the good news sprinkled throughout this chapter.  Daniel 7 talks of the “end of the matter.”  (Daniel 7:28).  These are the last days, my friends.  The Lord is coming!  And with him will be “dominion, and glory, and a kingdom” and his dominion “is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away.”  (Daniel 7:14).  And the saints of this most high “shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever” (Daniel 7:18) and the “greatness of (that) kingdom . . . shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High.”  (Daniel 7:27).

Daniel kept this matter in his heart!  (Daniel 7:28).  Every sheep of God should do the same – keep all these matters in your heart and ever on your minds.  The Lord is coming!  Rejoice.

Amen!
