Like The Prophet Jonah, WBC Has Been Directed By God To Preach That He Will Destroy You For Your Sins

Jonah was directed by God to preach to the ancient city-state of Nineveh, that God was going to destroy her entirely, due to the grotesque sins of her people. WBC has been directed by God to do likewise, except to the whole of the United States and the world!

On Thursday, July 24th the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, ordered all the fawning clowns out of the mosque and shrine situated over what is traditionally viewed to be the tomb of the prophet Jonah, in Mosul, Iraq.  Then they blew that place into rubble, to show the world how much they loathe what it represents.

Thank God for that glorious work that He wrought in these final days of the human race.  There are more blessedly significant preaching subjects that exploded from that event than I have time to fully speak to here — or that a generation that can barely maintain attention for the length of a tweet could bear — so I will only touch upon some big ones.

ISIS, of course, is a monstrously violent organization.  It is the demonstration of God’s blessed description of Ishmaelites — that fits a dying world, to wit:  “And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” [Gen. 16:12]  They serve a pedophile prophet named Mohammed who started up his own religion — like so many other perverts throughout history have done.   That God chose to make use of this particular band of psychotic beasts to present opportunity for His humble servants to preach to this generation, is supremely irrelevant.  Jonah — presented in any situation — is amazingly good preaching.

Christ, on two separate instances during His three and a half years of preaching, unearthed Jonah and put him squarely into the face of the lying preachers of His generation.  Why, then, should we not do the same?  Look at these amazing words:

“Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”[Mat. 12:38-41]

BOO-YAH!  Right between the eyes!

Now I know that I’m speaking to a generation of creatures who were raised to despise the real truth in the historical account of the prophet Jonah; because I am speaking to a generation of creatures who love their sin.  You love your idolatry, your fornication, your adultery, and even your sodomy — even while it destroys you body and soul!  So a brief and relevant synopsis of what our beloved friend Jonah did is probably in order.

Jonah was directed by God to preach to the ancient city-state of Nineveh, that God was going to destroy her entirely, due to the grotesque sins of her people.  WBC has been directed by God to do likewise, except to the whole of the United States and the world!

Jonah, in understandable recognition of the violently rebellious nature of that ancient civilization’s inhabitants, was temporarily terrified and fled.  So that a blessed type of Christ could be established, God put Jonah into the belly of a great fish (human tradition says a whale, but Scripture says “great fish” — no matter) where he was miraculously sustained for three days and three nights until being cast back out of the fish’s mouth onto dry land.

Jonah then received his commission to preach destruction to Ninevah, and went after it, like WBC goes after our preaching to this dying generation every morning.  Nineveh repented — every man, woman and child from the King himself down — and God stayed the destruction.  Because of so great a repentance in the face of relatively little evidence of God’s power having been shown (i.e., Jonah’s survival in the belly of the great fish), the people of Nineveh are going to rise up against future generations of rebels — including this most grotesquely rebellious generation — and testify at the Great Judgment Day.

Of course, when Christ spoke to the hypocritical faux-religionists of His day he was speaking to two generations — His and ours.  He confirmed His authenticity — and the significance of the events surrounding Jonah in verifying it — when he said “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with THIS generation, and shall condemn IT: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas IS HERE.” [Mat. 12:40-41]

But He also speaks to another generation of gross rebels against Him and against His commandments.  He does this both when he speaks here, and when he later speaks to these same rebels — in both instances using the future tense, to wit:

“But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:” [Mat. 12:39] … “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.”[Mat. 16:4]

We are presently living in that generation Christ spoke of.  A generation that has been given a full and faithful reporting of the events surrounding Christ’s fulfillment of the covenant of Grace, through His life, death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven.  A generation that has been further given, as Peter put it, “a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” [2 Pet. 1:19]  Finally, a generation that has been given a faithful little band of called out believers who have gone forth (or will before long go forth) into every Nineveh of this generation and cry out that your Creator is shortly going to bring forth lamentations, mourning, and woe like never before seen; and yet you only rebel more and more against God’s Word and rage with murderous intent against His prophets.

That generation — this generation — will not get any warning, except for the sign of the prophet Jonah — “yet 40 days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown”!  That is to say, there is only a fixed and relatively small window of time left before God comes through the atmosphere of this created world — to the real “shock and awe” of every living being — call forth his beloved sleeping saints from their graves and his living faithful from their labors — change their corruption into incorruption, and take His kingdom.

So I say again:  Thank God for the destruction of that idolatrous mosque and shrine — where this hateful generation has garnished the sepulcher of righteous Jonah but despised his preachments — so that this doomed generation can again be reminded:  Repent or Perish! I love you. Amen.
