The Apostle Paul – instructed, and appointed directly by the Lord Jesus Christ, wrote a letter to his fellow-laborer Titus, in order that Titus should teach a godly, orderly walk to the newly formed churches on the isle of Crete. That letter – contained in the book of Titus – is full of fundamental instruction for any that would call themselves Christian – man or woman, young or old, having a sincere desire to follow after the Lord Jesus Christ.
Titus 2
1 ¶ But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. [Sober minded: that is to say serious minded thoughts of God, temperate, chaste, moderate, wise, prudent – remember that clear instruction to young men – you’ll see why shortly. Back to Titus 2.]
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 ¶ These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
This ought to be required reading in the schools of this wicked nation. We have a duty to live according to these blessed, pure instructions, and through word and deed, to teach our children CONTINUALLY to live soberly, righteously, and godly. Recall that instruction for young men to be sober-minded, and then consider the young men of this generation, and see if you can keep your lunch down.
This week, 19 year old international superstar pop singer Justin Beiber was arrested in Miami. Apparently he and his posse blocked off a street with SUVs, while he and his friend had a 60 mph drag race through a residential neighborhood. Beiber drove a Lamborghini, the friend a Ferrari – both with Million dollar price tags, and gratis loaners from a luxury car rental company. Oh – and did I mention that this 19 year old admitted to the police (in a profanity laced tirade) that he was under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs? Earlier in the evening, Beiber’s entourage was reportedly given a police escort from one strip club to the next. The next day, throngs of adoring fans waited outside of the police station, to cheer on their idol as he strutted to the car, having been released on bond. Lovely. Not to worry – Beiber is a Christian – he says that he has a relationship with Jesus – he even talks to him. Well isn’t that just special. Me thinks he has a Latino friend named Jesus, and has trouble keeping it straight while in his drug and alcohol induced haze.
This foolish, godless child has built a career on lyrics, and a persona carefully crafted to glorify the lust of the flesh, and the world LOVES him for it. He, like the rest of this generation have been raised on a steady diet of lying, satanic bilge that boils down to this: God loves everyone, so by all means, live any filthy way you want and demand respect – nay praise and honor from both God and man – and demand that Jesus be your super bell boy to carry your baggage to heaven. This boy – this entire generation – has been provoked to wrath by their lying parents, teachers, Pastors, Government officials, and the fag juggernaut known as the media – all conspiring with satan himself to defeat the plain counsel and commandments of God. Speaking of media – I was intrigued by an editorial headline today on CNN.com which said “Beiber needs to shut his mouth”. I thought – wow, someone might say something approaching on truth. But alas, it was written by a lawyer who was chastising Beiber for admitting to the Police that he was under the influence, rather than taking advantage of his right to remain silent. Yeah – you heard that right. This nation is doomed.
Isaiah 3: 9-12 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. [that would be usurping Jezebellian women, and effeminate, men, having none of the attributes of a godly man as I mentioned earlier from Titus] O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Come out from among this wicked generation, little sheep.
