If you listen to or read on a regular basis anything that the WBC produces, you know that we have long told you, many, many times that the last of the last days before the Son of Man returns will be as the days of Noah were.  Hear now, again, the scripture which teaches this vitally important lesson:

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.  But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matt. 24:34-37).

It is beneficial, indeed, imperative to the disposition of one’s eternal soul to understand how Noah’s days were, what was so different about them, how they stood out as unique, if we are to heed our Lord’s instruction to watch for Him (Matt 24:42);  we must diligently look for such clues as we can find within scripture and all around us to dutifully watch, praying for His imminent return.  To that end, then, let us look at how the days of Noah were, and how the generation in which we live so closely mirrors them.

  1.  As in Noah’s day, we see a burgeoning, explosive world population.  Alfred Rehwinkle, in his scholarly treatment of the subject, estimates between 12 and 16 billion souls were living in the earth at the time of Noah’s flood.  In just under 2000 years, the world population exponentially filled the earth.  Men lived longer, healthier, fuller lives in the antediluvian world, and with that more humans roamed the earth.  If you look at the population growth of the last 2000 years, we see again exponential growth.   Despite the worldwide plague of pre-birth infanticide, the population continues to grow rapidly.  With this massive population in Noah’s day the “earth was filled with violence,” and we see precisely the same thing in our day.
  2. Just as He was in the days before the flood, God has been very long-suffering with an increasingly wicked world.  You frequently ask us why, if things are so bad and you are so evil, hasn’t God destroyed you?  We turn to scripture for the answer: “because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil” (Eccl 8:11).  God waits for his time to execute his judgment, but He will save His people from the world with his wrath; He once saved His few elect with the deluge of water, He will save His people in this dispensation with fire (2 Peter 3:7).  From the time of Cain to the time of Noah, mankind grew increasingly evil and flaunted their defilement of God’s ways until He grew weary of them and wiped the slate clean.  This generation has done the same.
  3. Just as He did in the antediluvian world, God, in His great and infinite mercy, sends His messengers to warn the living to flee God’s wrath.  Noah spent 120 years preaching to a doomed generation in obedience to God’s commandment.  Warning the living to flee from the wrath which was, and most certainly did, come.  He did this preaching publicly, all while tending to the business of building the ark, a feat of engineering rivaled only by the pyramids of Egypt.  He publicly warned his fellow man, working hard to fulfill his duty to love his neighbor in warning them to cast off what Calvin called their “rioting in voluptuousness and gluttony.”  Likewise you have a messenger sent by God to preach an unvarnished, uncompromising truth to you at a time when no others will.  Your so-called religious leaders are pedophiles, pimps, and whoremongers who have no moral standing to speak to you of God, yet you worship them while they take your money and promise you heavenly bliss.  We at Westboro Baptist Church preach to you at every opportunity, with great longsuffering, despite your threats, your shedding of our blood, your every attempt to destroy us.  Yes, despite all these things, we are still here; we still sacrifice ourselves to the cause of delivering God’s message to you just as Noah did.  We have been delivering this public message for 22+ years now.  How many more years or days do you have left before the wrath of God falls on you and the warnings are ended?  It happened suddenly on a day that God ordered Noah into the ark and closed the door.  Will you let His wrath come suddenly on you as a brute blind beast?
  4. In Noah’s time as in ours, God’s overtures toward men were despised and rejected, even openly defied.  The Antediluvians had Methusaleh, a walking, talking, in-their-face reminder that the deluge was coming.  Methusaleh roughly means “when he dies, the deluge.” There he was, involved with Noah in his public ministry every day as a standing notice that when he dies, the end will come.  God’s notice to those people was ignored and despised.  Today, you experience tragedy and misery on an almost-daily-basis now.  The destruction of 9/11, Katrina, Sandy, the Colorado theater shootings, Texas fertilizer plant explosion, the Boston marathon bombings – you are surrounded with terror and this leaves you asking “where is God in all these things?”  You reject the obvious, the only answer to this question, which is right in front of your face, and which WBC reminds you of every opportunity we get.  The clear truth is that God is in every single one of these things!  He is there, with these incredible adumbrations of His final wrath, these warnings that are right in your face to flee from His wrath and repent of your sins.  Instead of hearing that simple truth, you seek to destroy the messengers.
  5. The Babylonian Talmud speaks of the days before the flood as being the only time in human history that marriage contracts were entered into between two men or two women.  You think you’re doing some unique thing with this fag marriage filth?  Been there, done that.  And where did it get you then?  Jesus speaks to this very phenomenon when He says “[T]hey did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”  They were giving men to each other in marriage.  They were giving women to each other in marriage. And they all died.  Unpleasantly.  And went to Hell for it.  Now, here we are again at this same point.  The nations fall one by one pushing this filthy lifestyle and behavior forward and calling it “holy matrimony.”  There can be only one end to that self destruction.  You’ve pulled the pin on the grenade so to speak, and your destruction comes for it.

The evidence is there.  The days of Noah are upon us.  Whether you accept it or not is irrelevant.  Heed the warning or fall in the deluge of fire to come.   Hear the words, Little Sheep, and come out of this morally bankrupt mass.  Heed your Master’s call.

Amen.
