We hope the Lord is blessing your efforts, and pray for your safety as you proclaim Gods truth to this nation at the funerals. We were able to watch the educational christmas video tonight at bible study, we were able to see it and were blessed. I wanted to touch base with you on a few things.

1. Is there a list of things that would be required of us if my family were to seek membership.

2. Is there a possibility of the fellowship in Atlanta becoming a sister church under the overseeing of WBC

3. When we go to the Madonna concerts, sporting games, and churches , at times it seems that handwritten signs aren’t as clear as professionally made signs, however we do not want to support many of these megastore chains with buying expensive signs, we would rather invest in WBC. So is there a way we could obtain/purchase some signs from you?

Your first two questions need to be considered with a clear understanding of what the New Testament Church is, and how it functions.  Here are a few fundamentals:

  • The Church is local
  • The Church is visible, and identifiable
  • The Church is independent, and answers only to the authority of Jesus Christ
  • The Church appoints its own officers: Pastors / Elders / Deacons, as defined by the scriptures
  • The Church observes the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, as defined by the scriptures
  • The Church maintains and defends pure Gospel truth, beginning with the Doctrines of Grace
  • The Church is a spiritual temple, made up of lively stones, which are fitly framed together – perfectly, supernaturally supporting one another
  • The Church administers church discipline, as defined by the scriptures
  • The members do not forsake the assembly
  • The members walk orderly

Regarding question #3:  Those picket signs (like all of the skills, resources, and energy that God has blessed us worms with) are for the ministry that God has mercifully given to this little church, in these last dark days.  We zealously guard those resources, and we do not make merchandise of them.  Also, remember this:

“And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.” Luke 16:9. 

If we were worried about the money from our purchases being used to support unrighteous causes, then we would need to leave the world.  We are IN the world, but not OF the world.  We use our earthly resources (mammon) to minister to the saints, and to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ – by doing that, we are thereby using that mammon to make heavenly friends, that will receive us into everlasting habitations.  Anything beyond that, including what Home Depot does with money from our purchases, is irrelevant to us.

Thank you for the information regarding Eddie Long, and Paul Graetz.  We certainly are aware of Eddie Long, and have picketed that whore house multiple times.  I’m not sure we have picketed Graetz, but we will keep it in mind for future trips to ATL.  I think we may be down there for the Final Four.

One other point that I would make – your position that we were doing wrong to keep no company with those who have wickedly departed from the Faith.  I submit to you that it is not optional, but rather, it is our affirmative duty to withdraw ourselves, and keep no company with such people.  Please consider this document: “Withdraw Thyself:”
