Absolute Predestination.

In short, what it means is that in a moral universe, which this fundamentally is, there can only be one will – and that is the will of God. From eternal ages past, the Lord God, who is the Creator of all things seen and unseen, has put in motion all events, circumstances and outcomes – all according to the good pleasure of His will. You arrogantly think you have a will, like Hal thought in the Stanley Kubrick film 2001: a space odyssey. The fact is though, that the specific names and number of people who are going to heaven is so fixed, that those names have been written and sealed in a book since before Adam.

All of the events that transpire have all been foreknown by God with great specificity, and He has chosen the manner of all the universe’s falling out by providential caprice. The number, movement, life, death and mutation of every corpuscle in your system was foreknown and caused by God. The time, place & manner of your birth, the specific falling out of every single event of your life, down to the minutest detail, was foreknown and caused by God. The manner, time, place, and circumstances of your death, and whether or not he would bestow His grace upon you in your life, was foreknown and caused by God.

In the spiritual realm, there are no probabilities – in the spiritual realm, the eternal realm, there is not even so much as a coin flip. The Lord has foreknown, caused and orchestrated the sum-total of this universe’s events, from the smallest to the greatest, specifically by His sovereign will and in a manner that glorify and magnify His Holy name, by His standards, to the nth degree. It is by that sound Bible reasoning, and not by some goofy, base, nefarious motive that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ praises God for all His judgments, including: Thank God for Dead Soldiers, Thank God for Aids, Thank God for 9/11, God Sent the Shooter, and the like. We recognize the sovereignty of God in all things – all things.

Reggie White wanted to make a show of religion by thanking God and praying at the 50 yard line when his team won the super bowl, but did he recognize the sovereignty of God in his team’s defeats? The Godless rebels of this nation love to chant “God Bless America,” but do they recognize that if God can bless a nation, He can (and does) also curse nations? Do they thank God for those curses, or chastening? No. Listen up world, put your big boy pants on and get some sobriety about your place in this universe vis a vis your God. He is in control of all things – He makes alive and He kills – He wounds and He heals, and there is none with Him – and no man can stay His hand or say unto Him “What doest Thou?” He rains down temporal blessing in great measure even among the reprobates (think any well-to-do person you know) and He afflicts the righteous (think Lazarus or Job) – He also does the reverse, in afflicting the reprobates and blessing the apple of His eye. All to the end of glorifying His name.

And the saints of God at Westboro Baptist Church take great comfort in knowing this: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. All things.
