Wow! Thursday’s cover is a beauty! “Sandy, now snow & ice. GOD HATES US!”
So this thing IS on. Westboro Baptist Church has warned New York for years that God hates you for your proud sin. Rather than mourn and repent, you get exponentially worse every year, with hard hearts and filthy lives.
You mock. Yet of all the words at the disposal of the really clever staff of the New York Post, you land on “God hates us!” Because you knew when you headed down the same-sex marriage trail, you were enraging God, and that it would end with Sandy – and so much worse. The standard of God is in your DNA; you cannot help but say these words in the throes of your angry despair.
