We Don’t Worship Calvin So Get Over It

Thank you for taking the time to answer my e-mail; I have a few questions: namely,

(1) Ian Paisley claims he is calvanist, should I follow his example?
(2) I think I read somewhere that John Calvin had heretics burned at the stake, is this scriptural?
(3) It is written in Deut. 18:18, “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethern, like unto thee(Moses), and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” Muslims claim that Yahweh is taking about Prophet Muhammad. Please tell me about this portion of Scripture.
(4) Dr. Zakir Naik claims that Christian’s should follow the example of Jesus, including circumcision (Luk. 2:22). Is this necessary to enter paradise?
(5) It is written in Jn. 10:30, “I(Jesus) and my Father are one.” Does this portion of scripture alone support the idea that Jesus is the Lord God Almighty. I am very confused with this theologoumenon. Can you help me help me understand the trinity. Muslims claim that Jesus was not God but only a messenger of God.
(6)If there are any preachers from Northern Ireland whose teach you would consult, could you refer me?
(7) Is their any strong arguementation you could equip me with to refute my Muslim brothers that they are rebelling against God?
(8) Is Prophet Elijah going to return to the earth before the end of the world? Mal. 4:5-6, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” Could be help me understand this portion of scripture?
(9) Before the Law of Moses where did the inhabitants of earth go to in the hereafter? Is their any scriptural explanation?
(10) And lastly, is their any scripture that addresses polygamy?

I have been collecting Fred’s sermons, and I would like to thank him for his teaching.

Thank You 😉

Dear friend –

Here are some answers that I pray will be acceptable to the Lord our God:

1. No.  Please see and follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. If he did that, NO. That is not scriptural.

3. That scripture is speaking of our dear Lord Jesus Christ, who fulfilled that scripture – read about that in the Word of God, called The Bible. Lu 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

4. No. Please read Galatians. Please read Romans 2:25-29.

“For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” Romans 2:25-29

5. My dear, Muslims follow a pedophile. Why do you tell us what they say? They are not of God, so they have nothing to add to this discussion. Isaiah 8 says plainly – If they speak not according to the WORD OF GOD, it is because they have no light! So forget what Muslims say, and go with what the Word of God says. There is a book called The Trinity by A. W. Pink, (I believe) wherein he pulls together a large amount of scripture that gives the Bible picture of the Trinity. However, if all you had was the verse you quote, GO WITH THAT!!

6. We know of none, nada, zero! We know of raping priests however; RUN from them.

7. Start with this – Mohamed was a pedophile. Get into the Word of God and read and answer them one and all. YOU must be prepared to give an answer to everyone that asks you a reason for the hope that is in YOU, with meekness and a proper fear of the Lord.  WBC has a web page, www.GodHatesIslam.com that has many words that will help. BUT, there is no substitute for a knowledge of the Word of God.

7. Here is a sound exposition by John Gill about that:  “Ver. 5. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet, &c.] Not the Tishbite, as the Septuagint version wrongly inserts instead of prophet; not Elijah in person, who lived in the times of Ahab; but John the Baptist, who was to come in the power and spirit of Elijah, #Lu 1:17 between whom there was a great likeness in their temper and disposition; in their manner of clothing, and austere way of living; in their courage and integrity in reproving vice; and in their zeal and usefulness in the cause of God and true religion; and in their famous piety and holiness of life; and in being both prophets; see #Mt 11:11 14:5 and that he is intended is clear from #Mt 17:10-13 Mr 9:12,13. It is a notion of the Jews, as Kimchi and others, that the very Elijah, the same that lived in the days of Ahab, shall come in person before the coming of their Messiah they vainly expect, and often speak of difficult things to be left till Elijah comes and solves them; but for such a notion there is no foundation, either in this text or elsewhere. And as groundless is that of some of the ancient Christian fathers, and of the Papists, as Lyra and others, that Elijah with Enoch will come before the Day of Judgment, and restore the church of God ruined by antichrist, which they suppose is meant in the next clause.”

8. The Living God, from Adam to now, has had NO shortage of ability and means to deliver an understanding, by way of what John calls “an Unction” from the Holy One and we (God’s Elect) know all things. (1John 2:20  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.) To demonstrate what I mean, see this blessed passage about how Enoch, the 7th from Adam, spoke of the return of Christ in great power and glory to deal with the rebels, to wit:

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Jude 14-15.

In short, the plan of salvation is the same, from Adam to now.  NOTE:  Before any rebel goes off the chain about the Law of Moses and Salvation by Grace after Christ, I am not addressing that. I’m addressing the Blood of Christ shed for each and every, all and singular of the Elect of God.

9. YES!

“Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god. The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts. And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.”  Malachi 2:10-16.

Also:

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2: 21-24.

Plus:

“The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” Matthew 19:3-9.

AND:

“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.” Luke 16:18.

One more:

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews 13:4.

Sum it up:  One man, one woman, one lifetime!  If you divorce plus remarry, you are living in adultery. If you live in adultery, you are in danger of hell!

Thank you for writing!
