Christ Is The Head Of The Church

I recently listened to an interview Shirley did where she stated a church does not act unless the members vote in agreement unanimously. I would like to know what passage this may be found in for I find it an interesting concept. Thank you.

Here is the concept: When the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ acts, we are in agreement, and until we are, we keep looking, working, talking, praying, reading. Here is a little portion of the Bible that carries that important
and comforting doctrine:

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. [Acts 1:14]

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [Acts 2:1]

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, [Acts 2:46]

And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: [Acts 4:24]

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. [Php 2:2]

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. [1Cor 1:10]

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [Eph 4:3]

So, if we have a matter, we search it out in fact and for the scripture that will help, we seek the Lord for wisdom, we put on the mind of Christ, all of it being the beautiful work of God working in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

For the statement of intent from our Lord Jesus Christ in his noteworthy and blessed prayer, I think this would help:

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. [John 17:20-23]

There is more on this doctrine to learn. So if you endeavor to serve God in these last minutes of all, you are welcome to come, sit, listen and learn.
