Let Them Praise His Name In The Dance

Hi, My names Mark, thank you for hearing me.. i been meaning to ask you something. I have been following ur churches preaching and music and i find most of it to be Biblical or Bible based.I would like to visit ur church and see for my self one day. the one thing that bothers me is the music, ur church sings very nice and the words are very strong and Bible based. but some of the songs are pop and rock music with dancing. i don’t understand that, i see a ppl. a chosen ppl that confess to be Christ like and Christ minded an then i see worldly music with dancing to there beet, music for the body works for the flesh. i say how can you take the Holy words of God and put them to a worldly dance?? Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? They have made no distinction between the holy and the common,neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean..Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,..please don’t think i am out to point and mock. i ask out of love that you look at this with a opened mind.i pray you to reply. I pray to God that he will give you straight to keep on telling this ppl that there sin is taking them to hell.Blessed be the name of our God an Father through our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever,AMEN..

Hi Mark-

One tool of our preaching is to use pop-culture to speak to this generation where they are at. Let’s look at Paul who did likewise with those to whom he preached, keeping in remembrance that we must bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1 Cor 9:19 ¶  For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20  And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21  To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22  To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

There is no confusion in our words and lyrics that glorify the God of Eternity for all things.  Using the precious resources from the Lord and with great zeal, Our Heavenly Father has blessed us and this ministry by allowing us to preach to the entire world from this little humble place. We have separated ourselves from their filth. We use the things of this world but we do not to abuse the things of this world – like technology, the media, music etc. To dance is not immoral unless you use dance to be immoral. There are many verses that speak of dancing before the Lord knowing that He is King and we are His humble servants for Him to use as He wills. Furthermore, we take great care that we would not do anything to anger our God and thus daily examine ourselves that we walk before Him uprightly and with great humility and modify our behavior accordingly as we ought.

Consider these blessed few examples.

Ps 30:11  Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Ps 149:3  Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

Ps 150:4  Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5  Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6  Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Ec 3:4  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

2Sa 6:14  And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Just as you are doing, David’s wife, Michal, accused him of dancing for immoral reasons. She was rebuked for it and remained barren all her days. We couldn’t be more separate from this world and their practices while still remaining in this world. Daily and with boldness we cry ‘unclean’ to every bit of their filth. I thank you for your words, but I do believe you have missed the mark.

If I may humbly ask, where are you and where is your faithful testimony to this perverse and untoward generation? The time is short and we all must soon give an account. The Bride of Christ is making herself ready.

Thanks for writing!
