Fags Can’t Repent

Dear Westboro Church,

I am currently living a homosexual lifestyle, and I saw some of your signs on TV not too long ago. I have been on the fence about God and Jesus, but a friend of mine who goes to church has said that it is too late for me to be saved and that I’m going to hell because I’m a “fag”. Do I have any hope at all?

~Peter

Peter,

I’m detecting that you have a cavalier attitude toward matters of great import: your soul, heaven, hell, eternity. Not good, Pete. No one cares if you’re “on the fence about God & Jesus” – but you should care.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

As long as a person still draws breath, it is technically not too late. However, if you lack the shame that is *fundamental* in repentance, then no – there is no hope for you.

“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 8:12

We have a sign that says “Fags Can’t Repent” – as long as you freely call yourself a fag, you cannot repent. To repent means to change your mind & your conduct due to an overwhelming shame for sinning against your
Creator.

Repenting doesn’t mean to just change your mind & conduct toward another sin; it means to RUN from that abomination you unabashedly commit and run to the Lord & His Word (the Bible – KJV 1611) – to diligently search out what it looks like to obey God & with all your energies get about the business of pleasing *Him* – and *not yourself*!

I highly recommend reading Psalm 119! =D

I leave you with these good verses from my friend Joel; this is the model you should pattern your behavior after.

“Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him
of the evil.” Joel 2:12-13

Thanks for writing,
