Pen Pals? I Don’t Think So.

Hi, my husband and I live in New Zealand. We were watching the program on tv yesterday about your church. There has been a great deal about you in the news recently. We are interested and confused by some of the beliefs which you uphold and by some of the ways in which you attempt to spread the message of God. I was wondering what you would think of our group becoming pen pals with members from your group? The point of this would be to discuss the bible and its teachings and try to understand each other more.

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37

I look forward to your response and will pray about it.

Sincerely,

Lisa the Baptist

Hi Lisa, the Baptists of old take their name from John the Baptist.  Jesus said that among them born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist. (Mat. 11:11).  You do not get forgiveness without repentance.

John the Baptist said “Repent ye: for the kingdom is heaven is at hand.” (Mat. 3:1).

We tell this generation that openly violate the commandments of God to repent! John was not a wimp faux apologetic Christian, he boldly preached the commandments of God.  Mat. 14:3  For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.4  For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.  That is, thou shalt not commit adultery! (That’s not judging, it’s a commandment).  And for that John the Baptist lost his head. The prophets of God of old were bold!  Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, Moses, Christ, Samuel, James and John (Christ called them Boanerges – Sons of Thunder). Read the Bible and you will see their exploits (Dan 11:32).

John said at Mat. 3:7-8 “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.”  We look for fruits of repentance and what we find are: 1.2 million abortions per year in just the U.S.; wars and murder galore (Thou shalt not kill); adultery by the millions (Christ said if you divorce and remarry you have committed adultery – Mark 10:11-12); covetousness (thou shalt not covet), thefts (thou shalt not steal), worship of false gods and idols (thou shalt have no other Gods or make or worship idols); You know these are commandments – right?  Condoning and enabling fags and the marriage of fags  is a great sin! (Romans 1:18-32).  It reminds me of Jeremaih 5:7 “How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses. They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Shall not God avenge for these things?  You don’t get to heaven by marrying homosexuals and violating all the commandments of God.  I don’t see anything in your email about following the commandments.

Re 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

1Jo 5:2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1Jo 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Christ said at Joh 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments; and at Joh 14:21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  Christ also said Mt 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.

We tell you plain that Christ is coming to execute judgment.  Jude 14  And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 ¶  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16  These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.”

See also, 2 Thes 1:7  … when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,8  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. Fags marrying is a sign of Christ’s coming See Luke 17:26-30.

This isn’t judging anyone; unless you say John the Baptist when he told Herod he couldn’t have his brother Philip’s wife (thou shalt not commit adultery) was judging. Or when he called the Pharisees and Saducees a generation of vipers was judging.   That is silly. This Church is enormously forgiving when we see fruits meat for repentance.  Unfortunately, what we mainly see is proud, arrogant, sinful people that insist it is just fine for them to commit the grossest sins possible and take Satan into their bosom and then proclaim that God has to take it and like it.   This is not the God of the Bible.  His name is jealous!  Ex 20:5; He is a consuming fire Deut 4:24 and Heb 12:29.

Rom 9:13  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. Rom 9:18  Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  2Pe 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

The book, the Revelation of Jesus Christ is about the coming destruction of this world. The whole book of Revelation is 100% about Christ’s revenge on this generation.

Rev 6:10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

We say like John the Baptist, flee the wrath to come.  We don’t have time for pen pals – we preach.  2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Thanks for writing.
