The Righteous Shall Rejoice When He Seeth The Vengeance

Hi WBC,

Hope everyone’s doing good.

What do you think of this from Proverbs 24:

17Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Are we not to rejoice at the funerals of the wicked even though they deserve every bit of God’s wrath? How are we to answer this?

Dear friend –

Everyone is rejoicing in the Lord! He gave us a ministry to preach to the world in the last minutes of the last hours of all.

Here it is:

Psalm 58:10-11 –  The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.  So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

We do not rejoice on our behalf and we don’t revel against the wicked, but we rejoice that God has vindicated His Name and His people.  He demonstrates that he did not send us to the streets these 20 years now and then fail to confirm his word at the mouth of his servants at Westboro Baptist Church.  In short, it is not about us, it is about the righteous judgment of God, so we rejoice in that.

Thanks for asking.
