If Ye Love Me, Keep My Commandments (John 14:15)

WBC-

If someone has lived a sin filled life, what do you recommend they do to be saved, besides repent…what are some actual things they should
do to be saved in the eyes of God.

Thank you,

Matt

Hi Matt-

Excellent question! Put away that sin. Repenting takes with it the notion that you stop doing that which is sinful. For instance, if you are living in adultery (Christ said divorce and remarriage is adultery), you put an end to that adulterous relationship. That first marriage made twain into ONE flesh. Divorce rips apart that one flesh. There is no compromising on His laws. Read the Bible and find out what God requires of you and then do it. No one will enter in sitting on the fence saying, “Lord I would have obeyed you but that I preferred my second wife to the first…etc”

And this:
Acts 16: 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Believing means submitting to the whole counsel of God, which is His perfect hatred for the reprobate and merciful love toward His elect. Believing means you keep His commandments.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
1John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

I suggest you read our websites and search the scriptures if these things be so.

Thanks for writing!
