I’ve chosen to write my term paper (in my Political Science class) about the Westboro Baptist Church. I understand the amount of negative press you receive, and I was hoping to get “your side of the story.” I have some questions; it’s be great of you to help me, or direct me to someone who would be willing to. Thanks for your help!
1. How did the Church begin?
God established it; he called Pastor Phelps to be the preacher; and Jesus Christ is the head of it.
2. How was the Reverend able to attain followers so easily?
He’s Pastor Phelps; Reverend is reserved for God as one of His names (Ps. 111:9); he didn’t “attain followers” – Christ calls His elect to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. No man can come to God except it is given unto him by the Father (Jn. 6). No one at Westboro Baptist Church is a “follower” except of Christ.
3. Where do you cite the Bible?
I’m not totally sure what you mean by this question, but if you mean when will we refer to the Bible in our conversation, the answer is everywhere it’s appropriate. Not at our jobs or schools; we’re working then, not picketing. Though I hasten to add that our very presence is to the eyes/ears/hearts/minds of these people tantamount to quoting Bible, as we are walking, living, breathing testimonies everywhere every day to the truth of God. We quote Bible on every public airwave we can lawfully access, and certainly in our daily conversation with each other.
4. Who do you believe will be saved by God?
All of His elect foreordained to eternal life, and no one else. The number is fixed, certain, and their names are written on His breast and on His hand.
5. When is Jesus coming?
At the hour known only to God. The signs of the time indicate we are in the Last Days. Beyond that, no one but God himself knows. Even Christ didn’t know.
6. Can homosexuals repent and be saved?
Not and keep being homosexuals. Homosexuality is an act, not a state of being. Everyone is depraved and capable of all manner of sin. When you murder someone, you’re a murderer. When you rape someone, you’re a rapist. When you divorce/remarry someone, you’re an adulterer. When you have sex with a person of the same gender you’re a fag. You can’t “repent” of those things and a) be proud of it and b) keep doing it every day. When you stop doing it, you’re not a fag. No fags in heaven!
7. Is adultery as deplorable as homosexuality?
Yes. It’s not the sin de jure on the front page of every real/virtual newspaper today, but we preach against it. Check out the great video and song on that topic at the links below. And the fact that the faux-Christians have institutionalized adultery, in the pulpits and pews, and the fact that priests rape children, is why the fags have this nation on the ropes, and we will have same-sex marriage, then destruction.

And we have God Hates Adultery and God Hates Divorce and Remarriage signs. We tell the faux-Christians of the nation/world virtually daily that they have turned the country/world over to the fags with their rampant divorce/remarriage adultery. They claim God has forgiven them. That’s what the fags say! Problem: You keep doing the same sin every night dummies! Stop that!
8. What unifies the Church?
I don’t know exactly what you mean by this; we are of one accord about serving and obeying God. We have an unction with the Holy One; the candlestick of Christ is in this place; we get light, understanding, knowledge and wisdom from God and the Holy Ghost every day. What we’re “united” in is a necessity laid on our heart to flee the wrath to come; obey God; keep His commandments; be compacted and obedient; and testify to the world until our testimony is complete. Does this answer your question?
9. Why picket soldiers’ funerals?
Why do the politicians, military, media, veterans, citizens and families turn 98% of them into giant public orgies of rage and patriotic pep-rallies? That’s what we picket. Stop doing that and we won’t be there. There is not a single issue of greater public importance or attention today IN THE WORLD than how God is dealing with this nation through her dying/crippled/shredded-to-pieces soldiers. Everyone is talking about that issue in direct connection with their funerals/memorials. Why should we be excluded from that public debate, just because you hate the words?
10. Is there a mission statement, or just any statement you’d like me to include about your church?
Our mission statement is simple: Obey God! That includes following the passages about loving our neighbor by rebuking him for his proud sin, and warning our fellow man to RUN SCREAMING FROM THIS DOOMED NATION! Publish and obey, that’s our mission.
11. How do you respond to people who’s claim is “God is love” (John 4:7-18)?
He is love, for His elect. He’s also hate, for the reprobate. You actually mean 1 John 4:7-18, which is about God’s love for His elect. And how do we know who are His elect? Just go a few more verses down and find this: 1 Jn. 2:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. If you’re not keeping God’s commandments – and instead (as this nation does) you hate them, mock them, and wallow in your feelings and your proud sin demanding it not be called sin – you have no love for or from God. Faux-Christians, fags, and other proud sinners love to pluck forth a passage here or there about the love God has for His people, and the love the elect have for each other, and pretend it applies to all mankind. It doesn’t. Otherwise hell would be a superfluous joke. All mankind knows there is a place called hell; it’s real; it’s eternal; and it’s torment. But you all join hands and rage and blather and think you can break off that bond. Our words, told to this nation and world every day, ensure you cannot. We bind you; and your DNA knows it’s so. 12. You seem to use a lot of the Old Testament, but do you use any New Testament? If not, is there a reason for this?
We use both testaments daily; it’s all the word of God; it was all written by the Holy Ghost; there is no conflict, and in fact the NT teaches that the OT was written for our learning and admonition. It’s a false distinction that fags and faux-Christians fling about to justify sin. Step away from that lie.
13. How do you deal from the treatment you receive from the American public? For instance, I saw a documentary (by Louis Thereaux on BBC) where someone actually threw a drink at a child’s face, just for picketing with you. How does this affect you?
Some liquid in the face can be wiped off. People try to harm us; it gets no traction; the attempts spread over 45,000+ pickets are statistically insignificant. Three passages may help you understand why a nation that is in full-on rebellion against God and would kill His servants have been unable to (and will be unable to), because we have testimony to give:
Ps 76:10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
Re 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Psalm 91: 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
God restrains the wrath and rage of this nation so we can get this job done. Meanwhile, the only way it affects us is it affirms what we know to be true, which is that this nation is populated by brute violent beasts whom God has to restrain. It confirms that we are doing our job. If we were telling them sugary lies like the 2M+ lying whore false prophets of this land, they wouldn’t rage.
14. Have you ever attended a religious service outside of your church, for educational purposes?
I have by happenstance attended some services in other churches in my 54 years on this earth; that is partly how I know they tell nothing but lies.
15. You said that there were “signs” that we are in the Last Days. Where do you find these signs?
Christ said as it was in the days of Lot and as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the day when the Son of Man cometh. They are awash in lust and sin; they marry and give in marriage (same sex, remarriage, polygamy, etc.). Plus we see that this is that time described in the Bible when they will not endure sound doctrine, but instead heap to themselves, after their lust, teachers who have itching ears, telling them what they want to hear for filthy lucre’s sake. And when there is a famine of truth in the land. We see the nations shaking and God preparing the world. We see the Beast Antichrist Obama sitting in the White House running for world king. We see massive apostasy. We see great affliction being poured out by God on the nations. We see the events of Revelation unfolding. Things like that.
16. If the U.S.A is doomed, is there another nation that is safer from God’s wrath (e.g. not committed/condoned so many sins)?
No! All the nations have forgotten God. But this nation uniquely had gospel light and great blessings; this nation is Babylon; this nation was exalted by God and had a duty to tell the truth; this nation claims to be the Christian nation; this nation is in BIG trouble with God. Many nations are being shaken today, prepared to form under ten kings and one world king. Those nations of Gentiles will be used to afflict Israel in the Last Days, which are coming soon. Then God is going to come in power and glory and put them down! What a glorious thing it will be. The ONLY nation that will ever be on this earth that is righteous is the nation of the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s coming, and it will be glorious. God is going to have a righteous nation on this earth; but there is not one today.
17. What I meant by question eight (what unites the church?) was…basically, how large is it? Does everyone know everyone else? What keeps you together?
Yes we know each other; we are compacted; we are in spiritual communion; we speak often with one another; we watch and know each other’s walk; it should be no other way. The Bride of Christ has the attributes that I just described; and it’s the only way this work could be done. What keeps us together is a like precious faith.
18. Why is Obama compared to the Anti-Christ?
There is a whole Website devoted to this, www.beastobama.com, with lots of details that answer this question. He has all the attributes described in the Bible of the Antichrist, both in character, in origin, and in timing. Rather than me detail all those here, read the Website, and see if you have follow up questions. We have an unction with God; He has given us light and knowledge on this issue.
19. Do you have any role models?
Read Hebrews 11 for the heroes of the faith; those are my role models if I need one. But “role model” is mainly a fleshly thing, and really doesn’t factor in. We are all unworthy; we all strive to obey.
20. Do you have any hobbies, favorite movies/t.v. shows?
Everyone has a little down time, though not much these days because there is so much exciting stuff going on in serving God. We exercise; we spend time with the children in this place; we garden; we watch a movie now and again. I’m partial to Law & Order and saw a good movie last night called King James Bible. It was a documentary, pretty well done, about King James, how he came to the throne, and how he oversaw the writing of the King James Bible. Some myths in it, but overall interesting.
21. Did you ever question what you were doing? Your religion, the picketing, any of it? Studies show that 86% of people have questioned their religion at some point in their lives.
We search the Scriptures daily to see if these things are so. I don’t care what studies show about man-made false religion. It’s a lot of psychobabble mumbo jumbo blather. If they speak not according to the Scriptures it’s because there’s no light in them. Many heads of the false religion monster; none of it matters; God hates it all. What I question is whether I will overcome and finish this course; because I read in the Scriptures that the righteous are scarcely saved, and the sinners in Zion are afraid, who among us will dwell in everlasting flames. It gets our attention; and we pray and read and talk to each other and take up our cross daily and make sure we take nothing for granted and do the work and ABOVE ALL BE THANKFUL, VERY, VERY THANKFUL!
