Interview Questions About Gay Marriage

1) How long have you been a reverend of Westboro Baptist church?  No women preachers at WBC; God hates women preachers.

2) Why did you decide to start the church?  WBC was started by Eastside Baptist Church in 1955.

3) What point-of-views were you taught growing up?  The Bible point of view.

4) How did you feel after they passed the same-sex marriage law?  I will need to know which fag marriage law that you speak of, because I’m pretty sure that my feeeeeelllllllliiiiiiinnnnnngggggsssss were different for each time, but let me take a stab at it.  I was light headed and my arms were tingling and my stomach was in knots and I barfed for over three hours and I could not stop crying and . . . you can just make up some more stuff and fill it in.

5) How do you feel now since its been a year the law was passed?  Which law?  Oh - how do I feeeelllllll.  Sorry I will stay on message.  I have PTSD.  I spend many hours in bed each day.  I can’t hardly face the day.  Here again, you can fill in some more fluffy words to fill that need in foolish Doomed americans to elevate their feelings about all else, to their complete destruction!!

6) Do you plan to do anything in the future about same-sex marriage?   Yes, I am going to fling myself off of the curb outside my house.  Either that, or, pursuant to our custom for 19 years now, we will hold the standards of God before your face.  God does not change, fear him!  God hates fags and God hates fag enablers and even as Sodom was set forth for an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire, this nation’s destruction is fixed and certain and on the way!

8) Are you going to protest in diffrent states that may leagalize same-sex marriage?  Every state that has passed fag marriage has brought our pickets.  On the day that the licenses will begin to issue, we stand on your streets AGAIN and remind you that God does not change and that your destruction is IMMINENT!!

 I have a question I was hoping you might take a moment to answer. I

understand that one of your main arguments is that "Jews Killed

Jesus". I just read a book that discussed the fact that up until the

late 5th century A.D., Jews actually publicly claimed this fact and

were proud of it. Then, as the Christian faith grew, they withdrew

from this stance (understandably). Regardless of this, I do not

understand why you would hold Jews today culpable for the death of

Jesus over 2000 years ago.

I think as an analogy that my father was a bad man, beat my mother

and brothers, committed adultery, and then disappeared for 15 years,

but no one seems to hold me culpable for his sins. So, why hold the

Jews today responsible?

If you do not hold them responsible, then why claim, "Jews Killed

Jesus!" ? I mean, everyone knows this is true. It’s a historical

fact. It’s like carrying around a sign that declares "Ice cubes are

made out of water!" So what? Has someone been disagreeing with you?

Who are you trying to convince. I’m confused by your message. You may

wish to clarify it so that people don’t think you’re ignorant,

although it may be too late.

Plus read Romans 9, 10 and 11 and understand what happened to the Jews for the time of the Gentiles to be fulfilled.

Even though the bastard religious leaders of Christ’s day - who made sure he met the awful fate of crucifixion, knowing it was a bloody cruel event, with the person being beaten so bad they were not recognizable (they did it worst to Christ because of the blood lust of the fag Roman soldiers and vicious envious Jewish leaders, Isa. 52:14), and being disgraced and humiliated in every way imaginable -  put this sin on every Jew for ever - God being a tender, kind, merciful, longsuffering God - will forgive his elect Jews in the Last of All Days.  They will look on him whom they pierced and have great mourning.

These good Jews - whom Paul also speaks of in Romans 9, 10 and 11-the house of Jacob (not those who continue in unbelief) and who are described gloriously in Revelation 7 and 14 - will not waste a single word pretending the Jews didn’t kill Christ (see the tail end of Ezekiel 16); they will know the Jews did this great sin; they will mourn in great shame for it; they will tremble before their God; and he will deliver them and cause them to be joined to His Church.  They will have a special place with God, being the restored of his first fruits; and he will make a new covenant with them, see Heb. 8.  You should study what Ezekiel said - all his words should be carefully read many times - in Ezekiel 18 and 33; you will see that God being righteous will forgive those who repent of this evil sin from amongst the Jews; but those who continue in it, by their daily sins against the King - they will die without hope!

 

You should not open your mouth to give your simplistic uninformed unenlightened human-speak to these great matters of God and his covenant with his people.  At least not until you have done some quiet mouth-closed sincere study of the Scriptures!  I gave you good starting points to do this important work.

 

You are not confused; you are uninformed.  If you had the first clue what was going on in this world, you would know the Jews want to KILL YOU if you tell them they killed Jesus.  How out of touch are you?!  And you are not confused, you are just REBELLIOUS.  Shut your arrogant mouth about God and his servants, in your profound ignorance mocking them.  Get out a Bible; open it; read it; obey it!  Unless you’re one of the rebellious Jews, it doesn’t pertain to you!  Just tend to your obedience to God, which I suspect will give you a full decade’s work!

A few things on your must-read fluff piece on the faithless father’s attorney, who’s suing our little church for its preachments.

This case is not about them.  They are servants of God like King Nebuchadnezzar who God formed to besiege/enslave ancient Judah.  They are mouthpieces for 304 million rebels, who will cast off the First Amendment and declare war on the courts, so they can continue in their sin.

 

Also sadly for them, this case will be tried on the facts-not their rage.  The fact is we stood over a thousand feet away, out of sight and sound, disrupting nothing. Two large groups of other picketers sprawled out all over the church property, taking the full attention of funeral-goers.  And, we obeyed all your laws, for which you have no respect (just like you disrespect God’s).

 

Be honest: this isn’t about the privacy of an idolatrous ritualized funeral.  This is about words!  You don’t want to hear the fact that these soldiers are dying for your sins.  And that it’s a curse for your young men to come home in body bags!  You want everyone to bow down and pretend these soldiers are heroes in a giant public worship-fest with no dissenting voice.  Too bad; we’re dissenting.  Stop sinning; they’ll stop dying!

It’s too late for the dead soldier.  It’ll soon be too late for this nation.  Your doom is imminent.  You should have obeyed.

SOLDIER/LAWYER REPRESENTING YORK FATHER AGAINST WESTBORO CHURCH

"I don’t see them as normal people. They’re a cross between crazy and monsters."

Attorney Sean Summers is talking about members of Westboro Baptist Church, the Kansas group that protests at soldiers’ funerals, often carrying signs that say such things as "God hates fags" and "Thank God for Sept. 11."

They say God is punishing America for its tolerance of homosexuality.

The group has threatened to protest in Lancaster County twice, once at the funerals of Amish girls killed in the West Nickel Mines school shootings in 2006 and again this past week at Millersville University, where an anti- hate-group movie was going to be shown.

They didn’t show up either time.

But four years ago, when Albert Snyder of York County was burying his 20-year-old son, Matthew, a Marine who’d been killed in a Humvee accident in Iraq, they did come with their signs: "Thank God for Dead Soldiers," "You’re Going to Hell," "Semper Fi Fags."

More than 100 families have been targets in similar protests.

But Albert Snyder decided to fight back. He sued the group in hopes of stopping the demonstrations.

Summers, 40, a partner with the Lancaster/York firm of Barley Snyder, is the lead attorney in the case, which is expected to go to the Supreme Court in the fall.

"Anyone who intentionally harms another person while they are burying their son - that’s despicable," Summers said. "There’s no line they won’t cross."

For Summers, this case, which he is working pro bono, is personal.

He served 12 years’ active service in the U.S. Army, first as a soldier and then after law school (at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he graduated cum laude) as a prosecutor in the JAG Corps.

He was deployed to Afghanistan after Sept. 11, 2001, and is now in the reserves.

"My brother is in his fourth deployment. I have a lot of friends in the military," he said. "I couldn’t imagine if the same thing happened to them."

But emotion does not guide the law. Freedom of speech is a basic tenet of the Constitution. People have the right to say hateful things.

"It’s a complicated case for a lot of reasons," Summers said. "But take a step back and look at the First Amendment. There’s freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of peaceful assembly."

Summers argued two major legal points to a federal jury in 2007: the intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy. In October 2007, Snyder was awarded $10.9 million in compensatory and punitive damages, which a judge later reduced to $5 million.

But last September, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the verdict, ruling that the Westboro group’s protest was constitutionally protected speech.

"The 4th Circuit basically said you can say anything whenever you want, wherever you want, and the more obnoxious it is the more protection you have," Summers said.

"Before the 4th Circuit opinion, (47) states accepted the tort of emotional distress. It was a very strong argument," he said. "But this decision nullifies that and the ability to have a remedy (by suing)."

The circumstances make this more than just a freedom-of-speech case, Summers said.

A group is free to protest and say whatever it chooses. Those who are offended are free to walk away.

But you can’t walk away from your son’s funeral.

"It’s hard to deny that you are a captive audience. That has legal significance," he said.

Snyder appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, which agreed to take the case in its fall term.

Then came a shock, which got national attention.

Snyder would be required to pay court costs, amounting to $16, 510.

"The timing was quite bizarre for an active case," Summers said.

The Westboro group immediately announced it would use the money to stage more protests.

Summers will be filing a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on May 24.

"They could reaffirm the 4th Circuit’s decision, they could reinstate the jury’s award, or they could order a new trial," Summers said. "I am confident we will prevail, but I will admit it’s a close call. There are a lot of conflicting principles."

Arguing before the Supreme Court is a rare experience for attorneys.

"When you ask the court to hear a case, only 1 to 2 percent get granted," Summers said. "Very few lawyers can say they have been there."

So is he nervous?

He sounds like a soldier when he responds.

"I’ll get ready. I’ve been living this for four years; I’ll continue to get ready."

He will have about 30 minutes in front of the justices.

"On any appellate level, you speak for about 15 seconds, and then they start asking questions, which is good for everybody, actually. I’m not a mind reader; I want to know what their questions are."

The Snyder case isn’t the only one for the York resident, who is a single dad to two children, ages 10 and 15.

"I probably have about half a dozen cases that bring me to Lancaster pretty regularly," he said.

But this case means a lot to him.

"Al gave up more than most of us will ever give up," he said. "This is definitely an issue near and dear to my heart."
