He admitted engaging in illicit sexual conduct with 8 children, at least 6 of whom were males. He blamed his crimes on a “dark and abusive relationship” with a priest he met while attending college, and asked the judge to consider the good work he did in the impoverished Caribbean nation when determining his sentence.
